May 24, 200620 yr Thanks for the gopher ball Matt Morris.. Pujols 3 RUN Blast.. He finally HR's in San Fran.. the streak is over! He's usually struggled at this park.. not anymore.. and thanks to Matty Mo :lol
May 24, 200620 yr Author Dont worry Bonds is gonna tie it up probably.. Marquis giving the lead back.. LMAO nothing new! RBI single.. close enough.. 3-2 game!
May 24, 200620 yr Marquis? The same guy your people thought would be enough straight up for Bobby Abreau? Just joshin with ya, I know you didnt say that. Did it go into the cove(and I never knew Pujols struggled in SanFran...seems like that kind of park+their pitching staffs=good stuff).

Did it go into the cove(and I never knew Pujols struggled in SanFran...seems like that kind of park+their pitching staffs=good stuff). LOL yes the same person other's have said to be traded for him.. I never said it.. Nah it went to LF sailing over Bonds head into the seats.. and yes believe it or not he has struggled in that park! 3-2 after the 1st.. Marquis the idiot gives the game right back to SF.. What I'd do to have that f'er outta here :banghead
May 24, 200620 yr I never would of believed that, but congrats Albert. Break barroids record, and I will actually be a Cardinal fan for a day. Hell, I'll buy a Pujols t-shirt.
May 24, 200620 yr Author Miles playing in Short LF grabs it and throws it to Albert who picks it up.. Bonds out at 1st.. the shift worked, lol By the way.. Marquis is starting to turn it on.. he's so unpredictable! He can be great or he can be horrible.. never one or the other.. well usually horrible :thumbdown :shifty
May 24, 200620 yr Author Yeah they shifted him there.. Miles was outta the infield and in LF.. Threw the ball which bounced, Pujols scooped it and got Bonds out by a foot or so.. Pujols due up 3rd here.. soon Spiezio on base for the 3rd time in front of Albert today.. here we go.. Pujols to DEEP CENTER.. flyout at the wall to Finley.. CLOSE! Whoa.. Encarnacion makes em pay with a 2 out 2 rbi single under the glove past Vizquel.. 6-2 Cards.. that was after Edmonds reached on an error..
May 24, 200620 yr I think Morris is about done. Not only with this game, but career wise. He just doesnt seem to even be able to really compete anymore.
May 24, 200620 yr Author Yea.. I was glad that the Cards let him go.. he did a lot with us but he hasnt recovered in a while.. he was getting by with the Cards offense the past couple years.. now he's gonna pay and so are the Giants for their deal they made.. He's still out there though giving them what appears to be 6 innings.. With Marquis on the mound, any team is still in the game no matter how much they are down.. they trail only 6-4! Whoa, I think my jaw just dropped.. Marquis got an out.. ahead of Bonds.. and he got Bonds out again .. WOW!!
May 24, 200620 yr Yeah they shifted him there.. Miles was outta the infield and in LF.. Threw the ball which bounced, Pujols scooped it and got Bonds out by a foot or so.. Wouldn't Miles have been in RF, not LF, being the 2B?

Wouldn't Miles have been in RF, not LF, being the 2B? Yeah that was what confused me. I thought he meant that the Giants put a shift on Pujols and had somebody playing in shallow LF. That is why I said it must have been a long throw.

May 25, 200620 yr Man Albert Pujols seems to be on pace to break Mcgwuire and Bonds single season HR record, why no mention of this?
May 25, 200620 yr I believe the fact that the records are fairly new also has alot to do with it. The race to 61 was always talked about because the record had stood for so long. Notice how Barry breaking the record got so much less attention than McGwire and Sosa's chase. If Pujols stays on this pace though, he'll get the coverage soon enough. He's the anti-Barry and, by all indications, is clean. Now that Barry has passed Ruth, there isn't much to report because I don't think he'll get close enough to Aaron for each AB to be a big deal by season's end. I'm hoping Pujols can break Barry's record and bring back it's impressiveness after the roiding trio of McGwire, Sosa, and Bonds had their way with it.
