The Tigers scored 10 runs in the bottom of the ninth, helped by Frank Dillon's two doubles and five RBI, to set a record that still stands, for the largest ninth-inning comeback on any day, let alone Opening Day. June 8, 200620 yr I can think of an amazing game in which the Pirates hit 2 grand slams in the 9th to win a game 9-8 or something along those lines ... I just remember it being the pirates (Brian Giles hit one of those homers)
June 9, 200620 yr This topic reminds me of what was probably last seasons most famous reasons why we did not make the WC. 2-0 Marlins One 9th inning later ... 10-2 Phillies :thumbdown I remember last year the Giants were beating the cards 4-0 @ Busch and the cards scored 5-runs in the 9th to win, then did the SAME exact thing the next night being down by I think 5 the next game around and winning in the 9th. SF had a terrible BP last year and not much has changed this year either.
