June 20, 200620 yr Jamestown Jammers open up their season tonight at home. No idea yet if Sinkbeil is getting the start tonight or not, and it appears Chris Coughlan is yet to sign, but there are some other high picks set to make their debuts tonight. In particular outfielder Scott Cousins (3rd round) should be interesting to follow. http://post-journal.com/articles.asp?articleID=3505
June 20, 200620 yr it would be inrestresting if Sinkbeil does get the start...be nice to follow that kid for the rest of the season

June 20, 200620 yr Tonites Line-up Jamestown Cousins CF Saylor 2B Raynor RF Messner 1B Mense LF Blackwood 3B 0 Hatcher C Martinez SS Rogers DH Sinkbeil P Awesome. I'm excited to see how some of our picks do.
June 20, 200620 yr Sinkbeil only went 2 innings in his pro debut. He gave up no runs on one hit with three strikeouts. I'm sure that they are just bringing hin along slowly.
June 21, 200620 yr sounds like he had a solid outing....must be on a strick pitch count specially since his college season just finished...you don't want to overwork him
June 21, 200620 yr I doubt it's worth it to follow his first several outings. I'll start paying a lot more attention next year anyway.
June 21, 200620 yr Jamestown wins in the bottom of the ninth 2-1 Not much hitting - great relief work from Juan Camilo with 5ks in 3 scoreless innings http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/app/mil...mvsasx_jamasx_1

June 22, 200620 yr Author so besides them...who plays in the GCL??? i take it GCL is the lowest minor league system...right? GCL Jamestown Greesboro Jupiter Carolina Albuquerque right??? or am I missing something? Our GCL squad is usually a mixture of draftees from high school (including draft and follows out of high school the year before), and younger Latin American players who are deemed ready to bring over to the US minor leagues (we have guys signed obviously who still play in their country's national leagues). This year we had a very college heavy draft, so the proportion of players from outside the US should be pretty high. The high schoolers we did draft quite high have been mentioned above, there were some draft and follow guys from last year signed too. Infielder Logan Morrison was the highest of those, he hasn't played yet though. I hope Torre Langley and Scott Cousins progress fast. The most they are likely to do for the rest of this year is make it to Jamestown, but that'll only happen if they really tear it up in GCL ball. Jamestown is college level ball pretty much (with wooden bats of course) so it can still be a real test for a guy just out of high school. The main aim at this stage is preparing them for what they'll go through next year in Greensboro.

I dont have any unrealistic expectations for the two this year, I am just meaning I hope they both progress through the system fast.
