CHICAGO (AP) -- Paul Konerko, Jim Thome, Joe Crede and Juan Uribe homered and the Chicago White Sox put on another double-digit offensive display Wednesday night, beating the St. Louis Cardinals 13-5.

The White Sox scored 11 runs with 12 hits in the third inning during Tuesday night's 20-6 victory that featured 24 hits. On Wednesday, they scored four in the first and five in the second to take control early and finished with 16 hits, four by Thome.

Cardinals starter Jason Marquis (9-5), who had won six straight decisions, was pounded for 13 runs and 14 hits in five innings, one night after the White Sox scored nine runs and had 10 hits off Mark Mulder in 2 1-3 innings. It was Marquis' first loss since May 8.

That could explain a whole lot.. Horrible year for the Cards.. Disgusting.. embarrasing.. We suck..

Yes I freak out a lot but I'm not used to this..

Wow you sure do live in the moment right now?

You are 14 games over .500, 1st in your division, and without the services of the best baseball player in the world.

Breathe in, breathe out.

Sorry it's hard.. just not used to this.. It still doesnt feel like it's been a good year :mischief2

Why the Reds arent in first with us not having Albert, is beyond me.. even with Albert the Reds are better I think..

The White Sox are the best team in the league. No doubt.

That lineup is out of this world. And then there is that starting rotation. Scary.

Mark Mulder ain't the Oakland Mark Mulder.

The guy's fastball was topping out at 87mph yesterday. He doesn't have the velocity anymore.

St. Louis' rotation is no push over. Repeat?

Yeah it is except Carpenter.. they were all reliable at one time this year.. not now

Most of the starters have winning records and you have last years' Cy Young. That rotation is no push over.

And most of our starters have 5 ERA's.. that's concerning..

Still, its not a push over.

Yeah, I want to know what the Cardinal's doctors are doing because there is something obviously wrong with him.

Yeah, I want to know what the Cardinal's doctors are doing because there is something obviously wrong with him. Peter Gammons said its related to a hip injury he sustained in 2003. But apparently, its not as hes been put on the DL for a shoulder strain.

The Cardinals put struggling left-hander Mark Mulder on the 15-day disabled list with a shoulder strain on Thursday.
