My guess is he'll be gone a few weeks. Possibly the 15 day DL. Its a loss but so far we have been pretty good without him. Hopefully Alf can keep it up.

June 27, 200620 yr Miami Herald 6/27 PLAYING WITH PAIN The right side of the Marlins infield is still ailing, though first baseman Mike Jacobs remains in the lineup, and second baseman Dan Uggla remains on the bench. Jacobs, who doubled and scored in the first inning Monday, has been bothered by a sore ankle since spring training. But Girardi said he'll continue to play as long as the pain is bearable. ''He wants to play every day, and we want his bat in the lineup,'' Girardi said. ``The one thing about his injury is it can't really get any worse.'' Uggla has missed six consecutive starts with a sore hamstring, but Girardi said he's not likely to go on the disabled list unless he has a setback. ''Right now we're not thinking DL,'' he said. FWIW
