June 28, 200619 yr I guess the cooler ran out of haterade that is my nomination for post of the year...in all seriousness, joe has done a fantastic job and just another reason why we have to trust this organization despite all the sh*t us fans have been through, Loria and company have delivered on their promise of competiveness and I for one, am very thankful
June 28, 200619 yr Personally I think he has started to get the hang of this whole "managing" thing. At the beginning of the year, he looked lost. Now he seems to have settled into the job.
June 28, 200619 yr I'd say Girardi's greatest accomplishment so far is being tough on his players but not overreacting on them. See: Olsen, Scott.
June 28, 200619 yr Personally I think he has started to get the hang of this whole "managing" thing. At the beginning of the year, he looked lost. Now he seems to have settled into the job. Exactly he did some move like sending runners to steal 3rd when look like they need more pratice at training camp or bunting at bad situation that I disagree on. During May I saw he was improving and laying off those experiment even though our team continue to stink.
June 28, 200619 yr I never said he should be fired, but I'll admit that I thought (and still think) that his handling of pitchers during the early season (remember Mitre allowing about 8 runs in one inning?) was rather questionable.
June 28, 200619 yr I've been behind Girardi all the way and I am glad to see this young team doing far greater than anticipated by most sports analysts. I hope second half of the season is played like the Marlins' last 30 or so games.
