Although I don't believe it will get them the wild card lead, it'll certainly go a long way into getting them into position to strike at the lead.

Is it not possible to come back and do the same to the Dodgers? Are you implying this team can sweep the DBacks, sweep the Dodgers and then take 2-3 from the Braves? Highly unlikely.

Is it not possible to come back and do the same to the Dodgers? Actually it was a whole month later. The Dodgers have improved since the break and have been on a tear (won 9 of their last 10). Meanwhile the Marlins have been pretty average. well if we are going all the way back to the break, the Dodgers have been pretty average too(1 game over .500 since the break)

Meanwhile the Marlins have been pretty average. I did the math quickly (and I might have been a game off) but it looks like if the Marlins continue to win at the rate they have since the All-Star break, they will wind up winning a total of 85 games, based on their post ASG .551 winning percentage. Whether that wins it or not who knows but it will go down in history as a tremendous accomplishment for a team who consistently fielded so many rookies.

But here we are, less than half way through August, with seven weeks+ to play and only 4 1/2 games back. In categorizing anyone who has given up hope as "delusional", when crazier things have happened, doesn't make much sense to me, especially if you want what else you say to be taken seriously. "Hard to believe", "overly optimistic", "really a stretch"? Sure, but delusional? As far as I'm concerned we're in it until we aren't. Plain and simple.
