October 12, 200322 yr the phillies are gunning for urbina for sure. this was supposed to be their postseason year, so i doubt theyre gonna dump it all to rebuild without even touching the postseason. we're obviously losing urbina after this season, but it'd suck to lose a guy like him to a division rival I think WE will be gunning for him more than anyone else. He meant everything to our bullpen this year.
October 14, 200322 yr b wagner-yankees And where does Rivera go? Retires, after a few years of having Wagner as his aprentice. I don't necessarily think this is the likely scenario, but I could see it happening.
October 14, 200322 yr Not saying he needed to be or that it was likely, just that I could see it happen. Apprentice was the wrong word, really, but I could see Wagner in a more of setup role for Yankees in the twilight of Mariano's career.
October 14, 200322 yr except that there is no basis for wagner going to the yankees aside from some people thinking the yankees end up with every player imaginable.
October 14, 200322 yr except that there is no basis for wagner going to the yankees aside from some people thinking the yankees end up with every player imaginable. The Yankees have the money to get whom ever the hell they want. I mean, I would say it's pheasable (sp) for three $20 Mill per year players signed with NY in the same off-season. lol. Never know when it comes to the boss.
October 14, 200322 yr Billy will not give up his closers role and contrary to popular belief Rivera isnt losing it and hes not retiring anytime soon...
October 14, 200322 yr Billy will not give up his closers role and contrary to popular belief Rivera isnt losing it and hes not retiring anytime soon... I agree with every word. If Wagner stays in Houston is to be seen, but where ever he goes, he'll be closing.
October 14, 200322 yr some people are just myopic. the yankees are not going to acquire another closer simply to use in a set up role. give me a damn break.
October 14, 200322 yr but yet wagner is going to the yankees? so by that logic, what happens to rivera?
October 14, 200322 yr some people are just myopic. the yankees are not going to acquire another closer simply to use in a set up role. give me a damn break. The last time they did that, they ended up with Armando Benitez.
