I'm surprised that Beasley was cut more than anyone. Hopefully we get Ron Dayne.

Whoa, we cut Beasley? I guess he's just lost it with age? Cause I thought he was kind of an underrated pickup for the Fins.

Supposedly he helped teach Barnes some of the tricks to being a good receiver out of the backfield (getting open, setting blocks and releasing, etc....) and that really helped take Barnes game to the next level in that aspect and eventually led to Barnes replacing Beasley overall.

September 03, 2006 [Sun-Sentinel] The Dolphins acquired running back Lee Suggs and tight end Tim Massaquoi off waivers Sunday.

Suggs was waived by Cleveland on Saturday after three injury-plagued seasons. Suggs, who finished the 2004 season with three consecutive 100-yard rushing performances, is expected to compete with Travis Minor to serve as starter Ronnie Brown's backup with Sammy Morris out for the next four games following a failed test under the NFL's steroid policy.

Massaquoi was selected by Tampa Bay in the seventh round of the 2006 draft after playing collegiately at Michigan.

Dolphins | Saban comments on C. Rogers

Tue, 5 Sep 2006 06:29:28 -0700

Armando Salguero, of the Miami Herald, reports Miami Dolphins head coach Nick Saban would not dismiss speculation that the team would work out free agent WR Charles Rogers (Lions). ''I know he worked very, very hard to get back from his first collarbone or shoulder injury, then [injured the collarbone] again,'' Saban said. "Things just haven't worked out for him there. . . . He has a lot of ability.''

Antowain Smith[sun-Sentinel] Even after adding Lee Suggs to their roster off waivers, the Dolphins continued to weigh other possibilities at running back Monday by hosting free agents Antowain Smith and Damien Rhodes for workouts.

A 10-year NFL veteran, Smith was released by Houston last Friday despite rushing for 69 yards in the Texans' preseason finale. Smith has two career 1,000-yard rushing seasons and gained 659 yards last season for New Orleans.

Rhodes is a rookie running back from Syracuse.

The Dolphins also worked out third-year tight end Matt Kranchick, who was waived Saturday by Tampa Bay.

[Miami Herald] On Monday, Miami added fullback Carey Davis to the practice squad. To make room on the eight-man squad for Davis, the Dolphins released running back Gerald Riggs Jr.

Davis was cut by the Buccaneers on Saturday.

couple of pieces of info from Finsheaven. http://www.finheaven.com/boardvb2/forumdisplay.php?f=2

I thought you all might find it interesting and stuff. Rogers would be a nice pick up, I am sure Saban could fix him up some.

also for those that dont know Nick Saban will put up a weekly column upon miamidolphins.com

pretty good reads normally, even if he is a bit wordy.
