This is what we need to do.

Okay, if the Marlins go 7-3 (next 10 games), 7-3 (Next 10 after that) and then 3-1 (Remaining 4 games). That would be 17-7 record in the next 24 games. That would put us at 86-76, which I think we could easily do. Could this be enough to win? This seems pretty realistic.

yea, that could do it....most important thing is making sure we beat up the phillies though

I think 83 wins could probably win the wild card

I think 86 wins would be more than enough. I think it will take 84 or 85 which means we need to go 16-8 or 15-9. It will be much tougher if Nolasco doesn't return and Moehler stays in the rotation. Moehler is starting Saturday.

Seriously? *gives away tickets*

85 wins is what Girardi has been preaching... that's a 16-8 record. That's a tough pace to keep up, considering the run they've been on.

1 vs ARI... 1-0

4 vs PHL... 2-2

3 vs NYM... 2-1

3 @ ATL... 2-1

4 @ NYM... 2-2

3 @ PHL... 2-1

3 vs CIN... 2-1

3 vs PHL... 2-1

if they win two games every series (tough)... they'd win 15 more games and be at 84 wins... it's gonna be real tough.

To have any chance, we're going to have to turn Philly into our punching bag...

Thats how we did it in 2003. Philly was our bitch. Thats exactly what we need again.

Exactly, and we need some sweeps!

We need San Diego to cool off, that's what we need.

Bingo. They're the only ones ahead of us we don't play. Forgive me for stating the obvious, but from now until the end of the season we need to play 3 games better than San Diego. The way they've been playing, that's a tall order.

Good news is that Philly and Houston lose a day off on the 25th to make up the rainout tonight.

And honestly, we can't just count on the Dodgers and Cards.

In my mind, those games just level out anything that could come to us from the Mets games (one home, one away).

Exactly.

They are playing WAY over their heads right now.

We could win out right now but if that team doesnt cool off we still get nowhere

Philly losing 2 games today would be pretty awesome.

Damn why did I think they were playing 2 today.

The Padres are 1 game behind the slumping Dodgers. So, if the Dodgers continue to slump and the Padres run away with the division maybe the Fish can make a run for it. The Dodgers are playing 4 against the Mets so... you never know guys. We were probably cheering against the wrong team.

That could very well happen.

According to the Baseball Prospectus analysis the Padres have a better shot of winning the West than winning the WC. If they stay hot then we may end up competing with the Dodgers for the WC.
