October 11, 200620 yr this is f***in ridiculous......although it will prevent me from losing more money. Unfortunately, it doesn't actually work. All it does is take the money away from US banks and move it all offshore. Expect all the gambling sites to set up links with banks in the Caymens or the Turks and Caicos Islands and then everything will just be indirect and not subject to federal review. Correct. Hello Netteller. I have a question. The new legislations says it will be illegal to DEPOSIT $ into online sites through bank accounts. But what if you are CASHING out? Im not bragging or anything but the only time I ever deposited $ into Party Poker was the initial $50 to set up my account to collect the $ I won in a freeroll. Common sense is telling me that if making deposits via bank accounts will be illegal then payouts will as well. Does anyone know for sure? And when will this go into effect? I heard like June of 2007? Answers will be greatly appreciated.
October 14, 200619 yr I tried to play a cash game online a few hours ago and was greeted by the news that thanks to the President, American cant play online poker anymore. (effective today) Im glad to see the priorities are in order.
October 15, 200619 yr thank you mr.president for making online poker illegal. oh by the way. north korea is still testing nukes.
October 15, 200619 yr For those so inclined, US players can still play on PokerStars, Full Tilt, Bodog, Doyle's Room, and Poker.com Neteller is still available, but I fear that this service may not be available soon. The price of their stock has dropped about 80% in the last few months, including a 50% drop on the day that the rider was added to the port bill, so this tells me that the investment community feels they will lose their US business. I think in the future we will be forced to fund our accounts through different ways, like sending a Postal Money Order. And the companies can pay us off in some other way. Sending pre-loaded Visa debit cards seems like it could work. Or they could send back postal money orders as well. . . The whole thing is F@ING ridiculous. I hope it backfires big time on the Republicans for ramming the morals of the American Taliban(their voter base) down our throats. It's a clear violation of the 9th Amendment. So, another one bites the dust under the current people in power. I would urge those of you old enough to vote to do so, and voice your opinion. College students.....register to vote. . . I get the feeling I'll be seeing some of you at Gulfstream or Pompano for live poker.

I'm cautiously optimistic that this translates into more political steam for legalized, regulated gambling at a local level. I'm sure far, far more people gamble today than they did in years past. And now that there's an itch that's suddenly become more difficult to scratch, things could happen politically.

Took about an hour to get the NETeller set up and get going on Full Tilt. Like you said I doubt it will last long. Problem with Pompano is its a total call fest. Everyone calls the flop, the turn etc. Its not real NL Hold Em.

Neteller says that they will be doing business at least until they can see the final regulations, which will take 270 days. If they wind up leaving sooner then other work-arounds will be there, like the money orders I mention. It's just going to be more cumbersome of a process. I don't like Full Tilt because I don't like dealing with an Indian casino. I don't go to the unregulated rip-off Hard Rock off-line and I won't go to an Indian gaming site on-line. I've never been to Pompano so I don't know the play there. What you talk about must be a regular cash game as opposed to a 1 table sit and go tournament, which I prefer.

I used to play tournaments but I get a better positive return on my money playing cash games.

I would think it was probably the U.S. casino lobby that was pushed this through, since they were losing alot of potential profits to these offshore casinos.
October 16, 200619 yr whatever it is.....it's ridiculous.....then ban it everywhere if your not gonna allow it on the internet.
October 16, 200619 yr Unreal.. BS!! How am I suppose to transfer to Bodog now!? You can still use Neteller for now. . . You really should be more interested in how they will get money TO you, instead of FROM you.

You really should be more interested in how they will get money TO you, instead of FROM you. Exactly. I just got my aces cracked when the flop came out 10,8,6 rainbow. I moved all in on the guy to protect my hand but little did I know he flopped the nut str8. Then I went on tilt and donked off all the money I had won (i wont mention the amount because I dont want to give anyone nightmares). Oh well. I win a lot more than I lose. Just need to turn the computer off for a few days and regroup. Thats poker.
October 16, 200619 yr I'd like to see an online casino challenege the bill as unconstitutional. I don't know if it is, but it'd be a nice try.
