October 6, 200322 yr Cubs have some good pitching, their hitting doesn't really scare me... What does scare me are their fans....I'm pretty sure we will see almost as many Cubs fans as there are Marlins fans and that's not a good sign. Our home field advantage won't be as strong as we would like. The last Marlins Cubs game I went to at PPS without a doubt had as many or more Cubs fans than Fish fans. On the other hand, tickets did go on sale before they won tonight, Cubs fans may have wanted to wait for their team to win to be sure they would see the Cubs... What do you think?
October 6, 200322 yr I dont think there will be many we sold out in the first couple hours not enough time for most of them to get their paws on the tix
October 6, 200322 yr Well all the lines at pro and both marlins en miami stores were all marlins fans as i saw there will be some prob. who took the risk and bought tix but i doubt many.
October 6, 200322 yr I think Cubs fans are the reason they sold out so quick. I'm not scared about Cubs FANs. We aren't Atlanta. When you mix Cubans + Puerto Ricans + Venezuelans + Dominicans + other LATINOS + Amerincans, you get ONE LOUD CROWD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
October 6, 200322 yr Ill be representing proudly at Wrigley *puts on bulletproof vest* stay safe bro. . . We need you in one piece in order to celebrate our future victories. Going to Wrigley to watch the Fish is going to be an awesome experience.
October 6, 200322 yr we sold out in the first couple hours Well actually I did get on marlins.com and got a couple of upper deck seats for Game 3 right after Alex hit that home run. I tried getting a ticket for Game 4 right after we beat the Braves, but nothing there. :thumbdown Our offense might not be scary, but one scary thought is that the Marlins will have to beat Prior and Wood at least once to win the series. The key for us will be winning Game 1 with Zambrano. He's had some injury problems lately (knee, back) that have hurt him the last three starts, but outside of that, he's been a really good big game pitcher for us. If he can win, that'll mean two games the Fish have to win against Prior/Wood. Anyhow it'll be a great series one way or the other. What scares me about the Marlins is that they're probably deeper in pitching than us and they play pretty sound fundamental baseball, ala the Angels last year. Here's hoping for a Cub win, but if we can't, hopefully the Marlins can beat those whichever northeast media darling they face in the World Series.
October 6, 200322 yr Author One scary thought is that the Cubs will have to beat the Florida Marlins pitching staff four times. Florida pitching = depth and variety If a starter doesn't work out, the Bullpen has solid long inning relievers in stock - Pavano (possibly the best #5 starter in the league) and Helling.
October 6, 200322 yr another plus for the marlins is if you can get into that bullpen, theres no telling what you can do to the following bunch of bums: Alfonseca Veres Remingler Cruz Estes all are VERY shaky and never seem to have back to back solid performances just be sure to get to them unlike the braves, i know you all will!
October 6, 200322 yr I dont think there will be many we sold out in the first couple hours not enough time for most of them to get their paws on the tix there are still tix up for graps....on the net
October 6, 200322 yr I think Cubs fans are the reason they sold out so quick. I don't there'll be as many Cubs fans at PPS as some people think. When we played Atlanta in the NLCS in 1997, I don't recall there being THAT many Braves fans, and there are definitely more Braves fans than Cubs fans in So FLA. Sure, there may be 5,000-7,000 Cubs fans per game at PPS, but they'll be easily overmatched by the other 60,000 Marlins fans!
October 6, 200322 yr yeah, but this is it for the cubbies they'll pack the house cuz this is once-in-a-lifetime!
October 6, 200322 yr as of now i think everything has been sold out for 3,4,5 That's how it should be.
October 6, 200322 yr who cares how many Cubs fans are there...there will be more Marlins fans there than there were at games in the regular season... we make money, and we also win games.
