October 17, 200620 yr I'm only posting the top 5 in the categories but you can view all the rankings here. He ranks every player in the league. Overall 1. Lebron James 2. Kobe Bryant 3. Dirk Nowitzki 4. Amare Stoudemire 5. Dwayne Wade Center 1. Shaquille O'Neal 2. Yao Ming 3. Zydrunas Ilgauskas 4. Jermaine O'Neal 5. Marcus Camby Power Forward 1. Dirk Nowitzki 2. Amare Stoudemire 3. Kevin Garnett 4. Pau Gasol 5. Elton Brand Small Forward 1. Lebron James 2. Tracy McGrady 3. Andrei Kirilenko 4. Carmelo Anthony 5. Rashard Lewis Shooting Guard 1. Kobe Bryant 2. Dwayne Wade 3. Paul Pierce 4. Manu Ginobili 5. Vince Carter Point Guards 1. Chris Paul 2. Gilbert Arenas 3. Allen Iverson 4. Steve Nash 5. Tony Parker They were calculated and ranked by their Player Efficiency Rating (PER). Personally I find that formula to be ridiculously flawed if it turns out some results like this (Steve Nash not being the best PG, Amare being so high despite no one knowing how his knee will come back, Ben Gordon being near the league 'average' etc). FWIW, Jim Jackson is the worst player in the league per these rankings. Thoughts?
October 17, 200620 yr Hollinger has too much time on his hands. No way Amare should be ranked ahead of Wade without seeing his knee this year and no way I rank Dirk ahead of him either. I think the Finals clearly established who the better player was.
October 17, 200620 yr I think it's absurd to have Amare top 5 and ahead of Wade. The type of surgery he's coming off of for his knee doesn't exactly have a huge track record of success.
October 17, 200620 yr This is a joke. I saw it earlier today and laughed at all the good players ranked so low. Jim Jackson being last is ridiculous, Cuttino Mobley being in the mid 100's I believe is ridiculous, Chris Mihm isn't as bad as he's ranked either.
October 18, 200620 yr Dwight Howard is the league's 15th best power forward? Well, if he keeps improving then one day he might be as good as Chuck Hayes. :thumbup
October 18, 200620 yr Even though you can't argue with the names in front of Hinrich, I still think this guy is as underrated as there is. Hopefully the Bulls lock him up in the VERY near future.
October 18, 200620 yr JRich gets no respect Why should he? He's never played in a playoff game. Pfft. Play-off games do not determine if a player is good or not. There is such thing as a good player on a bad team. I guarantee that every player in the league has gone through it.
