November 19, 200619 yr Why is it that no one is talking about Aubrey Huff? He would be a great pickup since it seemed that he found his power stroke when traded to the Astros. He can play the OF position and well can also play first base if we decide to leave Willy in LF. He also played at UM so maybe he wants to come back down here. Well this is what I got from mlbtraderumors.com Aubrey Huff - Huff can play any of the corner positions, though none of them well. He's worth around $11MM from 2007-09 according to Baseball Prospectus, so he'll almost certainly sign a bad contract this winter. He's the youngster of the group at 29. Im sorry but for less than 4 million a year I think he would be an awesome buy.
November 19, 200619 yr wouldn't happen because he'll cause more than 50 cents, which means he's out of loria's price range.
November 19, 200619 yr I would for his bat, but really, I think we should be looking for someone much more better at defense.
November 19, 200619 yr Aubrey Huff doesn't play center field or can pitch 70 innings out of the bullpen with a sub 3.50 era. Next.
November 19, 200619 yr What everyone (except stork) said. Not a horrible player by any means - but he doesn't fill any of our needs (which include a defensive upgrade in CF and reliable bullpen help. There's really (at this time) no place for him here. Besides, I derive too much enjoyment out of the organist at Dolphins Stadium playing "Puff the Magic Dragon" for his ABs to bring him here.
November 19, 200619 yr how much do you guys think he'll cost? something reasonable..remember who our owner is..
November 19, 200619 yr how much do you guys think he'll cost? something reasonable..remember who our owner is.. 4.4 mill through 5.5 cheapest. and it'll be to an AL team.
November 19, 200619 yr ya, that'll be out of our price range. but we can dream.. no one is dreaming of Aubrey Huff
November 19, 200619 yr ya, that'll be out of our price range. but we can dream.. no one is dreaming of Aubrey Huff Yeah, I Personally see him as another Brad Fullmer with a little more pop. So much for him, but he was good at one point.
November 20, 200619 yr Aubrey Huff doesn't play center field or can pitch 70 innings out of the bullpen with a sub 3.50 era. Next. Basically. And I would only THINK about the name Aubrey Huff if the Marlins deal Jacobs. And I'm even skeptical that he would be that much of an improvement over him next season. It's not neccesarily that Huff would improve that much over Jacobs, but the talent we might get by dealing Jacobs could help us fix a harder hole (CF) to fill than 1B.
