Cubs fans better get something better to argue with, they don't have a clue of what the speak of. Marlins fans, while not as plentiful, are not low-lifes, nor are they uninformed. October 8, 200322 yr This same "arguement" was brought up when the Sox won the divsion in 2000. Nobody could figure out why the Sox didn't draw 2 million that year. What everyone forgets is that the Sox had the SECOND LARGEST increase in MLB for attendance compared to 1999. The only other team that had a larger increase was the Mariners. Even that was only because of their new ballpark. So, somebody that has the time and energy, check the Marlin's attendance figures for last year and compare them with this years. I'll almost guarantee that it went up. The Marlins didn't start rolling until a little later so it might not have increased a lot though. I also guarantee that it will go up even more next year. "Quality is better than quantity, it applies to everything." While true, you need the fans to show up (even the no-nothing bandwagoners) to increase revenue. Although Florida has been the exception to the rule this year, typically more money = more talent. The young stars on this team are going to want more money pretty soon. In order to keep them around and hopefully keep winning, it has to come from somewhere. So,even though they are annoying, bandwagoners do serve some useful purpose.

And don't give me this BS "Well they haven't won in 95 years and they are still around". Yeah, let them go through fire sales and several changing of the ownerships and losing your ******* All Star Game and everything else and lets see how long they stick around. Fans can only be screwed over so many times before they stop showing up.

Counting post-season sales to date, we're up 102%. BTW - in the modern era, who has higher average attendance Cubs or Marlins?

He was asked about the Cardinals, and he said something like I couldn't care less if they all dropped dead. Well after hearing this Steve Kline from the Cardinals was asked what he thought and he replied something like I hope he gets hit in the head with a line drive so I never have to see him again. I will begin the search for the ancient link. Prior=John Rocker without the racism. Prior just has the love of the media because he is the only hope for the Cubs.
