Kobe is on the upside of recovery for the flu. He's had it since before the Friday game, which means he probably got it middle of last week. So those flu-like symptoms were probably not as serious as most would believe.

You're right he only has somewhere in the neighborhood of 15-20 million sitting on the bench with Odom out for a month and Mihm out for the season.

No, Kobe and Odom are 13-6 together (Odom is 2-0 without Kobe). Kobe alone is 3-4, while Wade without Shaq is 11-10 this year (and that record is likely to improve considering the fact that Wade usually starts the season relatively slowly). Regardless, it's a poor argument to determine which player is better, since a player can't control his supporting cast. Wade shoots better from the field than Kobe, creates more shots, and gets more assists. Honestly, Kobe has been more so in the league of guys like Manu Ginobili and Chauncey Billups than Wade and LeBron so far this season.
