October 11, 200322 yr Guys, it doesn't take a miracle to beat Prior and Wood. Wood lost 11 in the regular season, and Prior lost 6, so it doesn't take a miracle to beat them at all.
October 11, 200322 yr i have to admit that one hurts though.... it was in their hands. you don't get lots of chances to beat kerry wood. good thing is now they KNOW they can get to him. they've faced both Prior and Wood and although eventually lost both games, neither dominated them. they can beat either one, and certainly Zambrano and Clement.
October 11, 200322 yr Clement is a batting tee. Well, that might be a stretch, but he is certainly no Wood or Prior. The Marlins should win tonight. This probably is a MUST win game for them anyway. This series is far from over, especially with Clement and Zambrano going the next 2 games.
October 11, 200322 yr i am sure some of you are about to jump off a bridge but come on.... it was just 1 game, we did not lose the series tonight.... if we win tomorrow, the MO is back on our side.... we gotta beat Clement tomorrow..... first things first That's how you have to look at it. I thought this series would go 6 or 7 games before it started, meaning the Marlins would have to win it in Chicago. This series is FAR from over. I'm proud of the way our team played last night. I'm sure a lot of Cubs fans expected us to roll over and die in front of the almighty Wood, but we proved that he is human and can be beat. We didn't get the big hit in the end, and the Cubs did. The Marlins have bounced back many times this season, and now with the stakes higher, I expect them to rise to the occasion. Win today and tomorrow, and the pressure is on Prior and Wood once again. I BELIEVE...more than ever.
