February 16, 200719 yr It's not quite the impact of Michael Jordan's famous return to basketball in 1995, but Scottie Pippen is seriously considering a comeback and hopes to play for a contending team in this season's playoffs. Pippen, who turned 41 on Sept. 25, says he's in better condition and health than at any time in the last five years. And in the Eastern Conference, his veteran presence could change the balance of power and be a major influence in the playoffs. Source: Chicago Tribune Always liked Scottie but at 41 i think he should stay away...... He didn't look to good when he retired with the Blazers....
February 16, 200719 yr He just gave an interview with Lebatard. Check it out in the 790 archive here: http://790theticket.com/audio/143967921Sco...-%202-16-07.mp3
February 17, 200719 yr What exactly does he have left to accomplish? Prove he could do something wiithout Michael Jordan.
February 17, 200719 yr What exactly does he have left to accomplish? Prove he could do something wiithout Michael Jordan. he was literally a quarter away from the finals without jordan, its more than Jordan ever did without Pippen. the man needs to let it go, its over. its BEEN over
February 17, 200719 yr What exactly does he have left to accomplish? At this point I'm going to go ahead and say that he just misses the game. There isn't anything else to accomplish.
February 17, 200719 yr Did you ever watch him play flummoxed? Scottie was great. Period. If he wants to come back and he can still contribute to a team, more power to him.
February 17, 200719 yr if he can prove he can still play, who wouldnt want him? its not like he is demanding 35 minutes per.. he wants to be a vet off the bench for about 15 min a night
February 17, 200719 yr Didn't his back fall off last time he tried to play last time with the Bulls? I don't think it'll be better 2 years later (and older).
February 17, 200719 yr he wants to be a vet off the bench for about 15 min a night Well, at the age of 38, he was playing 17.9 min per night and shooting 37.9% from the field for the 23 games he was healthy enough to play. I'm not saying he's got nothing left, but at 41, he'd be the oldest player in the NBA. It's hard to see how he could be much better now.
February 17, 200719 yr It depends on his back. If its 100%, he has a chance to maybe contribute a few mintues. The article says he is below his last playing weight and he WAS one of the more physical specimens we've seen before. Good luck to him. Talk about a random news story
