Starting Lineups: Marlins: Ramirez, DH Boone, 1B Cabrera, 3B Willingham, LF Olivo, C Hermida, RF Wood, 2B Reed, CF Sorensen, SS Mitre, S, P Mets: Reyes, SS Wright, 3B Beltran, CF Delgado, 1B Alou, LF Green, RF Valentin, Jo, 2B Sierra, DH Castro, R, C Glavine, T, P http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/gameday/y2006/gd.ht...1&brand=mlb - Gameday
March 11, 200718 yr Author Hanley pops out to SS to start the game. It was a nice AB though. Boone flies out to RF Cabrera grounds out to 3rd. Inning done Reyes K's Wright walks. Beltran K's Delgado grounds out to SS. 0-0 after 1 Hammer grounds out to 1st. Olivo grounds out to 2nd. Hermida doubles into LF, great swing there.
March 11, 200718 yr NY radio announcers just got a 2007 Marlins media guide....they think it's pretty sharp.
March 11, 200718 yr Author Wood with the RBI double into RF! 1-0 Fish NY radio announcers just got a 2007 Marlins media guide....they think it's pretty sharp. I'm looking forward to my copy arriving. Reed K's to end the inning. Going Bot 2, it's 1-0 Marlins Mutts TV interviewing Rickey Henderson now. I thought he was trying to make the team but no just a special instructor. Alou flies out to CF Green grounds to 1st, Boone gets it and Mitre runs over to cover but Boone's throw is off line and Green is safe on the throwing error. Could tell Boone isn't a 1B there.
March 11, 200718 yr Just out of frustration I checked WFAN (on the web) and guess what THEY ARE BROADCASTING THE GAME !!!!
March 11, 200718 yr Just out of frustration I checked WFAN (on the web) and guess what THEY ARE BROADCASTING THE GAME !!!! That's what I'm listening to on MLB audio.
March 11, 200718 yr Author Sierra lines out to 2B and the quick throw from Wood to 1st for the inning ending DP. Going to the 3rd, 1-0 Fish Since I think I'm the only one watching the game (rather than just listening), I'll try to give some details impossible to know on radio whenever possible. It should be noted on the Boone error he did make a great play stopping the ball from going into RF before the errant throw. Sorensen with the single into CF Ramirez grounds to 2B, Valentin tries for the DP before catching it and mishandles it. Everyone is safe. 1st and 2nd none out. Boone is HBP, he didn't exactly try to get out of the way or seem to have known he got hit but the ump says take 1st. Loaded with none out. Cabrera pops up and Valentin drops it! 2-0 Fish. They remain loaded with no outs. Hammer with the sac fly to RF. 3-0 Marlins. 1st and 3rd 1 out now. Olivo with the sac fly to CF, Boone with a nice slide to avoid the tag. 4-0 Marlins Cabrera smartly tagged up for 2nd on that. Now Hermida grounds to 3rd, bad throw by Wright for an error. 1st and 3rd 2 outs.
March 11, 200718 yr Very nice outing for Mitre vs. the "A" Mets lineup.... I hope Mitre surprises me and I hope I'm wrong about him.
March 11, 200718 yr Thanks for the headsup on Boone's play. :thumbup Listening to the Mets side of things isn't, shall we say, insightful when it comes to the Fish.
March 11, 200718 yr The most important question is how effective did Sergio Mitre look today ????????
March 11, 200718 yr Author The most important question is how effective Sergio Mitre looks today ???????? He looked pretty damn good out there today. I was very impressed. Castro with the ground rule double. Reyes flies out near the Mutts pen, great play by Wood to get to that as Hermida had no chance. Long AB for Wright involving a fantastic diving attempt at a foul ball by Hermida finally ends with a flyout to LF.
March 11, 200718 yr If Mitre can get four+/- more starts this spring and progresses with each one the whole dynamic of the pitching (and trade) situation changes completely. Petit sounds like he's just getting by this inning. Is that how it looks on tv?
March 11, 200718 yr Author Petit sounds like he's just getting by this inning. Is that how it looks on tv? Yeah he's not fooling the Mets at all. He's lucking out. That flyout by Wright should've been gone. He just missed it. and right after I type that... Beltran homers over the RF wall. 4-2 game now.
March 11, 200718 yr Author Just about every pitch from Petit this inning has either been out of the strike zone or right over the middle of the plate. Great try by Sorensen but it's too far in the grass to get the throw off to 1st after the diving stop. Delgado with the hit Again down the middle and Alou singles into LF. Kranitz is talking to Petit now.
March 11, 200718 yr It's Uggla's birthday!!! Petit seems to get lit everytime he comes out of the pen.
March 11, 200718 yr Author Petit K's Green swinging, he made some nice pitches there. After 3, it's 4-2 Marlins Reed pops out to 3rd to start the inning. Sorensen grounds out to SS
March 11, 200718 yr Petit K's Green swinging, he made some nice pitches there. After 3, it's 4-2 Marlins Reed pops out to 3rd to start the inning. Sorensen grounds out to SS from what i have heard...it sounds like bringing in petit from the pen is an adventure...as where if he starts, he can handle it better
March 11, 200718 yr Author Hanley flies out to CF. Going Bot 4, it's 4-2 Fish Valentin grounds out to Boone at 1B Sierra K's looking. Good pitches from Petit this inning thus far. He looks like a different pitcher. Castro flies out for the 1-2-3 inning. Going to the 5th it's 4-2 Marlins Lino Urdaneta now pitching for the Mutts Boone flies out to RF Cabrera singles into RF. He's 2-3 today now.
March 11, 200718 yr Author Hammer hits into a 6-4-3 DP to end the inning. Going Bot 5, it's 4-2 Fish Petit stays in for a 3rd inning of work. Pinto is warming up Reyes grounds out to 1st. Wright homers over the LF wall. 4-3 fish now.
