With the Julio deal and Petit out of the picture, the replacement for Josh Johnson as he recovers got a little more interesting. Adding another arm to the pen, I think the Marlins will be more likely to give Renyel Pinto a shot if Mitre falls short. This also frees up Gregg to make more spot starts. Personally, I would like to see Pinto get a shot if Mitre can't cut it.

Mitre will cut it dont worry about it. I got a feeling he'll be a very pleaseant surprise this season.

With Tank ailing, I think its imperative we keep Pinto in the pen as another lefty.. you gotta love having two lefties in the pen. I like Pinto, but his control makes me think of him as a situational lefty more than a starter. With that being said, I love his future in the pen. We're going to have some physically imposing people in the pen who can bring it.

Mitre will do fine though.. and when JJ comes back, Mitre will be a really nice person to have in the bully.

I have a feeling Mitre might surprise, but for how long is the question. I love Pinto on the mound, his stuff is fantastic, and I would really like to see him get a shot in the rotation... But do we want three lefties going every five days?
