April 5, 200719 yr MLB had one goal and that was to get MLBChannel up and running nationwide to compete for eyeballs with the NFL channel. Bud and company were sick and tired of being shut out (pen intended) and really hit the ball out of the park with this deal. Nothing like a little hardball (yes, that pun was intended too) to get the job done. Congrats !!! They took the cable companies right to the edge and cable blinked. I feel a bit used, but in this case when we've got baseball available 24/7 365 a year it will have been worth it.
April 5, 200719 yr Also (assuming they matced the DirecTV offer) this is an extra $23,333,333.33 Loria can pocket and not "afford" to spend. Great news for fans and baseball!
April 5, 200719 yr This is great news. However I am very impressed with MLB extra innings premium that I may not make the switch...
April 5, 200719 yr Why two threads on this? All of these Comcast/MLB TV threads are pissing me off. Mods do your jobs, please. All the threads are for seperate issues. This is one issue. Then you have the issue of Cox in Gainesville. Then you have the issue of FSN Florida HD. Then you have the issue of Comcast outside of Metro SoFla. Then you have Dodge's MLB.tv/MASN thread. I know it can seem confusing, but to merge these would really confuse some people.
