Last year when Toronto came to town I was sitting in the Fish Tank and some guys were LAYING into Vernon Wells yelling "Where the hell do you play? Canada!?" in which he responded "At least people go to our games." lol. He was pretty playful even in the middle of at bats.

Borch also talked back to fans during a game last year vs the Cubs...

 

 

I'm a curtious heckler...I go to a lot of road games in NY since I live up here 1/2 the year, in Marlins gear, and I try to be loud...but at the end of the game, I try to shake hands with the fans around me, thank them for being good sports and stuff...if you're gonna heckle, at least have good sportsmanship!

Im not sure I would consider that LAYING into or even slightly clever.

Over the last 14 seasons I have been an avid heckler. I have been fliped off, cursed at and even theaten to fights by visiting player. I think that we as fans sitting in our fishtank seats need to make it as unpleasent for opposing players as possible. With the stadium being as empty as it is these players can hear nearly everyword. I am in no way suggesting that any fans throw things at players or on to the field, or even use cures words. there are many creative things that can be said to visiting team.

 

Make it your buisness to be out there next week against the stinking MUTS.

I heckle the opposing bullpen. Nothing nasty, but just try to get in their heads sometimes. If they were in Philly or NY, it would be a thousand times worse. Got kicked out by the Mets once, their bullpen catcher is a punk.

 

see, the trick is to befriend the bullpen catchers just enough so that they don't kick you out...we actually made signs for the Mets BP catcher last season cuz we really love to razz him...Then you can really say whatever you want and be realllly annoying...I guess I've gotten so bad over the past few years that now the bull pen catchers recognize me out of town, even when I'm not in Marlins gear!

 

Yeah, the De Aza cheer is great, with the exception of the pain in my throat the day after! it's worth it though...watch out for some new stuff in the next few series!

Racaniello, I believe. He starts crap, he's one of ot he few that talks back when you heckle.. I give him my cutomary, "Who are you?? Go play catch" (sarcastic tone). lol

 

Brewers series I cheered for Turnbow when he came out to the 'pen. "Turnbow!, whoo!, Derrick! You the man!!" .. Then every other pitcher that came out, I'd say the exact same thing, Turnbow or not, lol.

Nothing personal but if I were sitting next to you I'd tell you to sit down and be quiet.

I'm not much of a heckler but I have no problem with those that are. As long as they keep in mind there are kids all around and keep it clean. Some of the stuff they come up with is pretty funny. One thing I don't like is heckling our own players, especially after a bad AB or a bad defensive play. That's the precise time they need some words of encouragement.
