Why Boone starts at 1B?

Moyer' career vs. Boone : 1-for-10

vs. Jake : 2-for-3

I don't want Jake's platooned. He doing great job against lefty.

Here is some game info:

Moyer

vs Fish : 3-0, 3.32 era

vs Hanley : 4-for-13, one 3B, 2HR

vs Olivo : 6-for-10

Will this will be the game the Marlins finally figure Moyer out?

I would hope so, but they haven't figured Hudson out yet.

Not really comparable, those two.

Can't say I like what I heard from Fredi pre-game. Said they need to get into hitter's counts and get fastballs. How often does Moyer throw fastballs when he is behind in the count? Thats when you probably will see the offspeed junk from Moyer. The guy pitches backwards.

That's not a very fast fastball. They should call it a mediocre ball.

Obermuller is going to have to pitch a gem.

By the way, can anyone tell me if Obermuller is a groundball or flyball pitcher? Don't have a scouting report and I missed his last start.

Way to play the carom, Borchard.

I'm not comparing their styles, I'm saying Hudson has owned them going back to last year and the Fish haven't figured him out, same with Moyer.

for his career (262 1/3 IP), he has a 1.42 groundball/flyball ratio.

What is this, start number two for Treanor this season?

Gonzalez is allergic to playing Treanor, and it ticks me off.

I don't mind Treanor not getting many starts, but it has been a little ridiculous. He keeps playing Olivo like this and he'll get worn down. He needs to do his homework and see what happened to Olivo's batting average after Girardi started grinding starts out of him late last season.

Olivo is not a catcher you give as many innings to as possible. Sporadic flashes of power notwithstanding, he will strike out ALOT and have long stretches where he is just useless at the plate.

And Treanor is light years ahead of Olivo defensively.

While Treanor is a mediocre hitter, besides the lack of power he really isnt too far behind Olivo.

Don't really feel like getting into an Olivo debate in the game thread, plus we both know nothing I write will change your mind about him. Lets just say I agree Treanor needs more starts and leave it at that.
