Marlins Fans Everywhere

Featured Replies

Hey Everyone

Haven't been here in a while, but figured now was as good of a time as ever for coming back.

I am currently a student at Gettysburg College, and I've gotten all the flack for being a Marlins bandwagon fan (which I am not). But, I seem to be the only Marlins fan in this whole college. Ironically, the only Cubs fan in this whole college is right down the hall from me - Things tend to get a little ugly at times.

Anyways, I was sitting in one of the rooms watching the game in the Top of the 8th inning. Prior still had his 3-0 lead, and she comes in and says, "Go Cubs! The Cubs are awesome!" and then walked out. Right after she left, the fun began and the Marlins scored eight runs!

So I don't think the Cubs have the fan in the stands to blame - she is the one that jinxed them.

You can be sure I'll be watching the game tonight!

I hear ya...I am a graduate of Shippensburg University (not too far from Gettysburg), and I was hounded for wearing my Marlins jersey on campus back in spring of '93...All I keep hearing from Phillies fans was "Why The Marlins?" and then the Phils lost to Joe Carter and I'd say overall the Marlins have had a better decade (even with fire sale after the W.S.) since '93 than the Phillies...People thought I was nuts for skipping classes to watch Charlie Hough beat the Dodgers on Opening Day on the dormitory big-screen tv...

as a grad of another PA school (drexel university in philly) I often caught crap for being a marlins fan

of course my freshman year started with them winning the series ... but the years after that got kind of rough ... many bad days in the vet

anyhow, i digress ... here's hoping the marlins take it again .. hell of an experience .. still early in the year, really don't know anyone and then getting flak for being a marlins fan ... next thing you know they have a series championship and all the yankee/mets/phillies fans are envious and everyone just kind of looks at you as you oddly walk around very happy for reasons they can't understand
