May 23, 200719 yr damn work meeting making me miss the game ... thats 7 cups for the italians and most impressive is that Maldini has won 5 of them
May 23, 200719 yr Liverpool dominated the ball the entire game, Milan wins 2-1. it was the opposite of the 2005 game.
May 24, 200719 yr Author Liverpool couldn't capitalise and Milan did on the few chances they had. Also, the ref added 3 mins of extra time and blew the whistle after 2:30. You might say that 30 seconds isn't a lot, but it takes a fraction of one to score a goal.
May 24, 200719 yr Outside of Kaka, the play of both teams was unspectacular. Pretty boring actually. That's ebcause the game was already decided before it ever started...
May 24, 200719 yr Outside of Kaka, the play of both teams was unspectacular. Pretty boring actually. That's ebcause the game was already decided before it ever started... How much did Berlusconi have to pay?
May 24, 200719 yr Outside of Kaka, the play of both teams was unspectacular. Pretty boring actually. That's ebcause the game was already decided before it ever started... Some of those goal kicks awarded to Milan were questionable. Who knows what happens if they end up being corners.
May 24, 200719 yr at least liverpool knows that they arent alone.. was a good game to watch, they had it on replay unfortunately I heard the end score before I got to watch it (Damn you fiancee!) hehe.

I didn't get to see the game, but from what I hear Liverpool had good ball control but didn't even get a shot until real late in the game. It wouldn't surprise me if it was sold. Berlusconi has a history for this sort of thing.
May 24, 200719 yr Liverpool controlled it most of the game, but they didn't have many shots on goal. Dida didn't have to work much
May 24, 200719 yr Kind of a meh game. Tons of electricity in the crowd though. Nice to see we'll get to see a lot of Euro 2008 on ESPN.
May 25, 200719 yr Author Steven Gerrard seemed to be the only player trying to do anything offensively. Say all you want about Ronaldinho and Kaka, Gerrard is the best overall midfielder in the world. There's a guy who plays on both sides of the ball and doesn't just wait to attack.
May 26, 200719 yr the next great mid is gonna be Mikel Arteta.... just ask mets_bs :mischief I'd say he's the best midfielder in the premiership. But I'm a little biased :shifty
May 26, 200719 yr Author Here's 4 midfielders in the Premiership that are light years better than Arteta: Steven Gerrard Cristiano Ronaldo Frank Lampard Cesc Fabregas
May 26, 200719 yr Having a hard time detecting the sarcasm, eh? And it's funny, 2 of the 4 players you mentioned may not be the best midfielders on their own teams.
May 27, 200719 yr Lampard definitely isn't. I'm taking Ballack over Lampard any day. Or Joe Cole. Or Claude Makelele. Lots of great midfielders on that Chelsea team.
May 27, 200719 yr Author Ballack's form has dipped big time since he got to Chelsea. Joe Cole is good, but not better than Lampard. Makelele is a one dimensional player, a defensive mid that breaks up opposing attacks. Lampard was 2nd in the FIFA Player of the Year voting a year ago, and if it weren't for Dinho being from another planet, he would have won it. I'm assuming Fabregas is the other player you think isnt the best mid on his team? Who then, Rosicky?? Hleb? Ljungberg?? Flamini?? Come on now. Sorry, I guess my sarcasm detector was off on the Arteta comments. Not many peeps like soccer, and I thought that was the typical "this new kid is the best" comment. My baaaaaaaad.
May 27, 200719 yr I wasn't being sarcastic. Arteta's not the best because of that Ronaldo guy is there, but he is top 3-4. And he's not some new guy, he's been around a few years.
May 27, 200719 yr Who then, Rosicky?? Hleb? Ljungberg?? Flamini?? Come on now. Baptista, Van Persie when healthy (and playing mid). Arteta is a top 5 or 6 mid. In terms of overall player, I'd say top 3. And it is a complete shame he is not playing for the Spanish national team.

And as far as Van Persie, he plays his best as a forward.
