June 3, 200719 yr i've been out of gaming since I graduated college and put my computer down, which also coincided with when my PS2 started to get hit with the disk read errors my little brother moved in with his PS2 this past winter and I started to get into it a little bit again i'm going to buy a Wii this month (if I can find one) - reason is two fold, the first is cost - right now I'm very busy at work and normal recreation - the extra spread of cost just isn't worth it right now for the amount I'd use a system the second is the unique approach to gaming - i think a lot of the traditional gaming has become too complicated - i'm trying to have fun and kill off a couple hours, not memorize complex button patterns - with the Wii it's ease of use - you can play old school games for nostalgia - also my wife can play without a problem (and enjoy it) - or if we are having friends over it provides a nice alternate to the traditional board games while having a couple of drinks - it's a social system also with component cables the Wii looks pretty good on larger TVs i'm going to pick up the Wii now and then keep an eye on the advancing technology - i'm sure i'll get either the 360 or PS3 at some point for sports gaming and some more advanced stuff - but right now i'm going for the Wii
June 3, 200719 yr i think im going to give my psp to EB games for 90 dollars. in within the next few weeks getting a x box 360. it sucks that i bought a psp 2 yrs ago for like 350 and now i get 90. but i never play the thing.
June 3, 200719 yr So you base that the Wii sucks over graphics and a few games? I love my 360 and would never dream of picking up a PS3 with just about every exclusive game going multiplatform, but I have had more fun playing with my Wii over any game thus far for the 360 (with the possible exception of GoW). Then again, I grew up at a time when graphics were ****, so its not the end all for a system to me.

And uhhh... my brother has a wii and a 360, i have the ps3. I guess its just a matter of taste, but the charm of the controllers wears out and add to that the lack of decent titles, its just collecting dust right now. And yes, GOW is a true game marvel right now i wont disagree, too bad its soooo short, i mean literally.. its a potentially 5 hr game (with proof).
June 3, 200719 yr The Wii has sold almost as much as the 360 has, its hard to find one. but yea, ill stick with the 360, maybe borrow/rent ps3 when metal gear solid 4 comes out.
June 3, 200719 yr Author Everyone keeps mentioning how the wii is out selling ps3. I posed the question earlier if they were both 250... Which system outsells which if they are both $599?
June 3, 200719 yr Everyone keeps mentioning how the wii is out selling ps3. I posed the question earlier if they were both 250... Which system outsells which if they are both $599? I would have to think the PS3, but the question is a little bit misleading. People know what they're paying for with both of these machines, and those who want the more powerful machine may be willing to fork over the extra money for the PS3. The target market of Nintendo is just less likely to want to spend $600 on a video game machine. I think if you look at it another way...if both machines were priced at $250, I don't think the sales figures would be THAT different...I really don't. I think the Wii would still be outselling the PS3.
June 3, 200719 yr I don't play video games anymore, so I can't really compare the systems, but if I were to buy one, I'd probably go with the Wii: 1) The Wii is the cheapest. 2) It can be modchipped seamlessly. 3) There are tons of games available on the torrent sites. The Xbox 360 also has tons of games on the torrent sites, but modchipping your system will usually make you lose access to Xbox Live. There are apparently some ways now to get around that, though. Out of the three, the PS3 is totally out of the question for me. I can't justify spending $600 on a system and then having to cough up more dough every time I want to buy another game. The cost of having to buy games is part of the reason why I haven't bought a console in more than 10 years.
June 3, 200719 yr And yes, GOW is a true game marvel right now i wont disagree, too bad its soooo short, i mean literally.. its a potentially 5 hr game (with proof). short yes, but its easier to understand, most games that have long campaigns have you do the same things over and over, kinda like call of duty 3. its mainly about ranked/player matches.

Name some PS3 only games that can top a new mario Game, the last Zelda game, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, a new Metroid Prime Game. In terms of first party games, nobody can top Nintendo, and that is a fact. I'd rather play any of those games than any of Sony's exclusives. I'm sorry, but Metal Gear Solid isn't a system seller for me, especially whent he system is 600 dollars. That is way too much money to spend on a system.
June 4, 200719 yr Tiger woods on the wii is absolute gold. I only play sports games so I have really no use for the wii. The network on xbox live is the best part at any given time you can find a game on nba 2k
June 4, 200719 yr Wii's a million times better with friends...and Tiger Woods on the Wii may be the best multiplayer sports game out there.
June 5, 200719 yr yeeeaaa.... riiiight. apparently you do not own a ps3 or 360, or have no clue what you are talking about. The wii right now has the worse attach ratio, and the games out right now... well what games. More and more game developers are shying away from making games for this system because of its "obsolete technology" as you might put it. So even if you are remotely right about the 5 year thing for next generation gaming, the wii's time is just about up. I will suggest you look further when buying a console, see what games are coming out for it. For PS3 owners, right now things are pretty slow. But in a couple of months, when Home, Little Big Planet, Metal Gear Solid 4, Lair, Heavenly Sword, Final Fantasy 13.. so on come out, you will be very busy person, i assure you. PS: By the way.. if you own a HD tv, it would be such a waste not to go with the ps3/360. Once you go HD gaming, you wouldn't want to go back. It makes a realllllly big difference. Ha ha, what a fan boy. You say that in a few months the PS3 will make you busy. Well, what about the Wii? Guilty Gear XX: Accent Core Fire Emblem: Goddess of Dawn Mario & Sonic At The Olympic Games Mario Strikers Charged Manhunt 2 Metroid Prime 3 NiGHTS No More Heroes Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles Soul Calibur: Legends Super Mario Galaxy Super Smash Bros. Brawl And I know I'm missing some more stuff. Then you go and say that third party developers will shy away from the Wii? XD. You must not know your sh*t. Like Bradcore said, it's already been reported that third party developers are planning on releasing stuff for the Wii only because of the way it sells. No one wants to make sh*t for the PS3 because they can't sell. If no one is buying the system, then no one is buying the games. I don't own any of the systems because none of the games out excite me (Except for Twilight Princess) but when I do get one, it'll be the Wii.
