June 12, 200719 yr Rumor has it he may be going to Hendrick. I think the racing planet would implde if that happens. I have some good freinds that are Junior fans and they have said they don't know if they could even root for him if he went to the 'dark side'. :lol Gordon Johnson Earnhardt Jr. ? Mears No better group then that right now in a foursome that is already the best group this year.
June 12, 200719 yr holy crap that team is insane Alotta Junior fans are going to be furious. Great career move on his part though Wow...shaking up the racing planet for sure
June 12, 200719 yr Author How do you feel about it personally? I know you're a Junior fan and not a fan of JJ.
June 12, 200719 yr This is probably going to be the most hypocritical thing I'll ever post on this site. I despise Gordon, Jimmie, Busch, and Hendrick. Hell a buddy of mine is a huge Jimmie fan along with Hendrick obviously and after every single race that a Hendrick car wins I always send him a 'f***ing Hendrick' text message. This week was no exception. But in all reality. This definitely gives Jr the best chance to win a championship. NOW. So I mean it's good in that aspect. Going to take some getting used to, that's for sure. I support the move. I'll never cheer Jimmie or Gordon on, but hey if it gets him a championship? Oh well. Hendrick equipment is by far the best in the business right now. I think that's fairly obvious. But to most fans. This is like Jeter going to play for Boston if not bigger imo. Old school Earnhardt fans despise Gordon and I'm not sure they will stay loyal. With Truex's recent success I honestly wouldn't be surprised if many didn't switch their allegiances that way.
June 12, 200719 yr No, not Hendrick. Ugh, it's not like I hadn't figured out that NA$CAR isn't one big cash cow already. :confused Gordon Johnson Earnhardt Jr. ? Mears No better group then that right now in a foursome that is already the best group this year. No better group than one that includes Mears? Or are you talking about teams as a whole? Because if you told me to name the 4 best drivers, Mears wouldn't be up there.
June 12, 200719 yr I love the move!! I'm a big Junior fan and I think this is exactly the type of team he needs to finally start winning and possibly win a few championships with. I really believe that if he is given the right equipment, he can compete with the best in the sport. Very excited about this. :thumbup

I'm speculating on Mears staying over Busch because its rumored he wants out of his contract. C'mon you honestly think I thought those were the 4 best drivers going right now? :lol
June 12, 200719 yr The question now shifts from "who's car is he gonna drive?" to "Is budweiser still gonna be on his car?" I think he starts over fresh, IMO. Visa or Coca-Cola is my guess.

June 12, 200719 yr they arent signed with him beyond this season. I am gonna be ticked off if they just stick him in the Kellogs car I would rather him take Mears sponsers and put mears into the Kellogs.

Not 100% sure, but I think Bud announced they were staying on with Dale Jr. Well they haven't announced anything, but this move would certainly help continue the relationship of Dale Jr and Budweiser. While JGR might have shied away from beer sponsorships, Budweiser was a sponser in HMS for many years. I think the contract between Bud and Dale Jr runs till the end of next season, but these two have been great together and I just don't see them parting ways any time soon.
June 13, 200719 yr Hendrick it is. Johnson, Gordon, Earnhardt Jr., Casey Mears. Enjoy your championships.
June 13, 200719 yr 5-year deal...with the team that has won 10 of 14 races this year....this team is SICK!!! Kyle Busch is being replaced by Jr. and he is negotiationg with DEI to replace Jr. in the No. 8
June 13, 200719 yr This really sucks. The rich get richer. Agreed. I don't think I'm going to be able to hold any interest in NASCAR at all after Sterling retires.
June 13, 200719 yr 5-year deal...with the team that has won 10 of 14 races this year....this team is SICK!!! Kyle Busch is being replaced by Jr. and he is negotiationg with DEI to replace Jr. in the No. 8 One of the interesting things being thrown around is Hendrick trading the No. 5 car to DEI if Kyle Busch signs so that Dale Jr. can continue using it. Budweiser was also relatively quiet today all things considering. And I want to know how is this any different than what Jack Roush has done? The rich keep getting richer, but let us not forget that a few years ago it was Kenseth winning it, Busch winning the next year with Greg Biffle and Carl Edwards getting close to winning it themselves just a short time ago. This is just the way the sport is heading now.
June 13, 200719 yr Roush and Hendrick are obviously the cream of the crop when it comes to owners. RCR and Gibbs are second tier. And then DEI, Penske, and Ginn(I really think he's a big upcoming owner. Has the money at least) are a third tier. I mean that's 20+ cars that have a legitimate chance to win every week. Granted the drivers with Roush and Hendrick are going to have the best equipment but this stuff goes in cycles. Like how DEI dominated at restricted platers. The rest of the field caught up with them. The same thing will happen with Hendrick and the Car of Tomorrow. The rich does get richer and odds are Hendrick continues dominates for the next year or two, but the other teams will catch up. I guess its just the way the sport is right now. Bleh I feel so conflicted with this all. I really don't like Hendrick, Gordon, or Jimmie. Dodge/Toyota are basically worthless right now... By the way...I wouldn't be surprised to see Busch end up with Ginn
June 14, 200719 yr I don't want Busch driving with Sterling (and I don't think Sterling would want that either)
June 15, 200719 yr I don't want Busch driving with Sterling (and I don't think Sterling would want that either) I wouldn't want that either, however Ginn racing HAS to get younger if they want to really establish themselves in the sport. With Martin, Sterling and Nemechek currently on the roster, Ginn has a nice stable of veteran drivers thats good for the here and now. However you know Martin is only going to drive for a short time longer and Sterling's career is getting close to the end as well. If Ginn was serious about going after Dale Jr., he's really going to make a serious run for Busch who can become the guy on a race team which he never had a chance to at Hendrick.
June 15, 200719 yr This really sucks. The rich get richer. Agreed. I don't think I'm going to be able to hold any interest in NASCAR at all after Sterling retires. Limited schedule next season. Seems like Ginn is becoming the Wynmoor of NASCAR.
June 17, 200719 yr Race is flying by...what has gotten into Truex? Petty (who I think is doing a fantastic job announcing) made a great point. I don't think I've ever seen a team pick up such momentum from a win like the 1 car has since Dover. It's only been 3 races, but he's been running up front big time. I mean in his career he led 52 total laps. Last 3 races. 250+. And its been at totally different tracks Dover(1 mile) Pocono (2.5 mile flat track) and now Michigan (2 mile decently banked). Pretty awesome stretch here for this team. Exactly what DEI needs as Jr announces his departure.
