Tickets..

Featured Replies

So i got a ticket on good friday April 6th, 2007 for speeding. I already payed the ticket and now i need to take the 4 hour course so they can take the points off of my license. I have 120 days which is approximately 4 months to go to the traffic school. Well there's like a month and a half left now since i got the ticket in April. I was wondering have any of you guys done the 4 Hour course online, because i really don't feel like going to the class for 4 hours. I'm j/w wth would you do online for 4 hours on a Traffic Ticket course.

I have done the online course and loved it. There is a timer at the bottom of the page to let you know how much time you spent on the section and then you take a test at the end of each section. There's also the final test at the end, but you can go back and search through the site for the answers....although most are pretty much common sense. It was definetly better than sitting through an actual driving class for 4 hours. Afterwards, they send you the certificate and you just send it into the clerk of courts. I highly recommend it.

Ive sat through the course and done the online course three times or so, definitely do it online. You are forced to stay on certain sections for a given amount of time even though dont take that long to read. Usually you cant go back during the final test, so you just copy the whole page onto a word document and use the find function if youre looking for any answers for the final test, which as fau said, is mostly common sense anyway.

ooh crap so i should do this ASAP then huh, because the certificate takes a couple weeks to get to me probably, and then sending it to the clerks takes another while. dammit cops aren't my favorite people.

I had the exact opposite experience, I took one in person class and one online class.

The inperson was definitely more enjoyable simply because once its finished, that's it, the administrators take care of all the documenting. The online you have to do it yourself and you can't skip ahead quicker, so it's 4 hours regardless.

The Online course is a joke dude! Simple as can be... Its all to make a quick buck, thats it. You can either choose to print the certificate at home for 9.95 or have it shipped to you regular mail. I would select regular mail (it only takes 2-3 days)

When you get the certificate you have to take it to the courthouse of the county you got pulled over in. Make sure you make a copy of it because they keep it. It takes them like 3-5 days to input into the system. Check on it online in about 5 days to make sure the ticket is "CLOSED"

and if i take the course at the place they would do all the work i believe, correct? they'd send it to the courthouse and all?

The defensive driving class I took was like a literal Who's Who of Race/Social Class in America.

Nearly every type of person you can think of in there.

I did it in person a couple of weeks ago, and they gave me the certificate. I'm not sure if i need to take it to the court now, i keep on calling the place to ask them what do i do, but they never answer.

I went to a lawyer my friend recommended me and I paid him 100 bucks and I didn't get points or anything (the ticket was 260 something, I was speeding and didn't have a seat belt on) so it was no class or going to court.

How come that happens to so many people, were you like caught up in the moment that you didn't notice your seatbelt was off?

I was late for work, honestly I always put it on, it was just bad timing on a bad day.
