June 21, 200719 yr I don't think most Fish fans were expecting to see anibal before next year. At least i wasn't.
June 21, 200719 yr Sanchez Surgery Anibal Sanchez saw Dr. James Andrews today in Birmingham and was told he needs exploratory arthroscopic surgery Thursday. No idea on what Andrews will find, but considering Sanchez hasn't pitched since May 2 and it's the shoulder, the prognosis can't be good. GM Admin Beinfest pointed out Class A prospect Sean West had shoulder surgery in March and still hasn't picked up a ball. However, West's procedure was to repair a torn labrum. If there's no damage in his shoulder, Sanchez might be able to return before the year is out. But it's not looking very likely. Dontrelle, meanwhile, played catch Wednesday morning and said his left forearm felt "looser" and better. He still hopes to make his scheduled start Sunday against Johan Santana, but Fredi Gonzalez sounded like he was leaning toward backing his ace up to Tuesday or Wednesday against the Pirates. Dontrelle says he wants to make three more starts before the All-Star break and waved off my suggestion he go get an MRI just to ease his mind. "I don't think I need that," he said. "I just don't feel it's to that point." Let's hope he's right. http://blogs.sun-sentinel.com/sports_baseb...ez-surgery.html
