October 9, 200718 yr NEW YORK (AP) -- The NHL is launching its own network in the United States. The NHL Network, which has been available in Canada since 2001, will begin airing this month through carriage agreements with Cablevision, Comcast, Cox Communications, DirecTV, Dish Network and Time Warner Cable. The network will be accessible to 75 million homes, the league said. It will broadcast 50 live regular-season games as well as classic games, documentaries, instructional shows and highlights. Games will be available in high definition. "Our fans across the U.S. and Canada now can have access to the hockey programming they want, regardless the time of day," NHL commissioner Gary Bettman said in a news release. "We have joined with six of the most-respected cable and satellite distributors in the industry, and that is testimony to the appetite and demand for the NHL." http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/news;_ylt=AjR_...p&type=lgns Hell yes. :notworthy
October 9, 200718 yr I can't wait for my tax refund this year, so I can get upgraded to DirecTV HD. Of course, it won't be specifically for NHL Network, but...

November 3, 200718 yr Been watching it almost since it launched on my Comcast Tallahassee service. Very nice channel...basically a simulcast of the Canadian version. Hopefully Dish Network will add it soon so I have back home in the Cape.
November 3, 200718 yr Sweet, upon further review Dish Network does indeed carry the NHL Network! Channel 403/559 in High Definition, but I don't see it listed as an SD channel anywhere.
November 3, 200718 yr what channel does Comcast in Miami have it on? is it something that has to be ordered?
November 3, 200718 yr what channel does Comcast in Miami have it on? is it something that has to be ordered? I think you need the Sports Pack to get it and that costs $5 more a month. But if you can get the NFL Network, you have the Sports Pack. In Tallahassee, I have it on Comcast Channel 739.
