Scott Tyler is now a free agent

 

other minor leaguers of note are Jeff Fulchino, Wes Obermueller, Joe Borchard, Ben Julianel (in the Villone deal from the Yanks), Val Pascucci, Scott Seabol, Blake McGinley and Chris Ashby

 

of course we could re-sign Tyler (and the rest) but figured I would get a jab in while I could :mischief

Well considering 602 minor league players were declared free agents as of yesterday, yeah it is something of a cheap shot.

The Pirates cut 37, the Cubs 33 as did the Phillies and Orioles.

We gotta sign Hector Gimenez and Tommy Murphy. Gimenez is a solid catcher if he is healthy from his rotator cuff surgery. Murphy is as good as anyone we have at CF or maybe better...I hope Tyler is resigned
