G2 by Gatorade

Featured Replies

have any of you tried it?

I've had all 3 flavors so far; orange, fruit punch, and grape.

It tastes alright. Kinda tastes just like watered down gatorade or even Koolaid.

Does it have artificial sweeteners or just less sugar flavor?

Just less sugar. Uses the same combination of real sweeteners (sucrose syrup, corn syrup), but it has half the sugar. Regular Gatorade has 14g carbs per 8-oz serving. G2 only has 7.

In a related note, has anyone had Gatorade Tiger? It's a little fruity for my taste. Maybe even a little watery.

It's not bad, but I won't go out of my way to find some. I'm not a thirst-quenching drinker really, I usually just go for water.

Personally I'm skeptical myself of Gatorade's ability to solve dehydration over water, mainly due to the large number of salts in the drink. If one were really trying to retain water probably the best ingredient would be a couple of parts of glycerol.

Well it's worked for athletes for over 40 years.

Worked in what sense?

I suppose many people prefer it mainly because it has the sugary taste. As a runner, that is one of the last things I take into consideration when I need to take in fluids.

Like I said in a previous post, I found it too fruity. Has it been released yet?

I've seen it, but to me its like they wanted koolaid flavors. I think theres Grape :afro , Cherry :beer , and Watermelon :wave .

I wonder what market they were going for :rollseyes

If you actually believe the Gators got better because of what they were drinking...well sh*t.

If it's true, then they should ban it as a performance-enhancing substance. Force athletes to drink water and see what happens.
