Johnny Cueto is filthy.

Featured Replies

Johnny Cueto, 22 years old, starting pitcher for the Cincinnati Reds.

So far, in his major league debut he has gone 6 innings, while only giving up 1 hit, A solo HR to a future star in his own right, Justin Upton.

10 k's, 0 walks

Just watching his stuff he looks absolutely filthy.

Watch out for this young man, folks.

Decided to check him out on MLB.TV... My god, how do you throw a 96mph fastball with movement like that? And that changeup?

Wow.

Forgive me for not knowing the prospect listings but how highly touted was this guy?

. You would have a hard time finding him on any top 50 prospect lists even just for pitchers before 2007. He started the year in A+ and worked his way all the way to AAA. His whip in 3 minor league season is 1.10. And got better every year. Low walks high strikeouts, not many hits. You would find him in the top 10 pitching prospects in baseball in 08 on alot of lists . Behind say, Kershaw, Parcello, Joba, Hughes, Bechholtz, Price and the Rays boys. Some have his fellow Red Bailey still rated ahead of him. But at this point I think I go with Cueto.

Baby Pedro

It was a real treat to be able to watch both him and Jay Bruce last year in Sarasota.

Jay Bruce! Now that is a future HOF!!
