April 10, 200818 yr Gardner will get a while. The thing with having young guys in the minors, however talented they are, is that they are your stockpile of reinforcements in case something goes wrong or someone gets hurt. If you dump a veteran early in the season, that security blanket is gone.

You don't just jettison a reliever who gets off to a rocky start after he has a season like Gardner had in 2007. But the Marlins won't wait forever. We have a lot of arms waiting in the wings for their shot.
