Mephisto
How long does the team wait for him to get back the pintpoint control he needs to be effective when someone like Joe Nelson is waiting at AAA?
Sirspud
Gardner will get a while. The thing with having young guys in the minors, however talented they are, is that they are your stockpile of reinforcements in case something goes wrong or someone gets hurt. If you dump a veteran early in the season, that security blanket is gone.
Mephisto
Nelson is not a young guy he's justin miller Version 2.0, Doug Waetcher is another option.
gomarlins9703
Don't forget about Carlos Martinez, who has looked good at AA so far this year.
Rydawg
How long does the team wait for him to get back the pintpoint control he needs to be effective when someone like Joe Nelson is waiting at AAA? Joe Nelson has never had the kind of season that Gardner had last year. He will get more time to work things out. I think he deserves that much. It's not like he's our setup guy or anything like that.
fishfan97
Don't forget Gardner wasn't that dominant early in the 07 season either, so you just have to be patient.

Or is that Jeff Nelson?

CYmarlins
i agree, give him a little more time before making a decision. if he can't cut it then we got other ppl that can take his spot.

But the Marlins won't wait forever. We have a lot of arms waiting in the wings for their shot.
