Dan Uggla on ESPN First Take

Featured Replies

Dan Uggla was on First Take a while ago. They were asking him about the team, and about his power surge. They mentioned that he, and the team are under the radar and they want everyone to get to know the Marlins. So they asked questions about the team.

That's great, considering Steve Phyllis on sports center said the Rays have the ability tio stay in the race longer. Said the Rays were getting better pitching and defense than the Fish, all we had was power. I wish someone at the network would make up their mind about the Marlins.

Yeah I heard that myself too. But when they asked him on BBTN "Are the Marlins for real?" he said "Yes, they are for real!"

They're going to talk to Uggla again in a few minutes. They just said it again. Buster Olney just said that the back end of the rotation keeps getting better and better, and if they keep it up, the Marlins will be in contention in the NL east.

I really don't buy the "they will fade" argument because of the back end of our rotation. Miller and Badenhop are improving with every start, and Mitre and Sanchez should be off the DL later this season. Josh Johnson is probably out until September right?

What I don't get is that everyone loves the Diamombacks and their "young" team, but then they think the Marlins won't last when we are the same thing...full of young talent with one of the best players in the game.

we gets no respect.

off topic.... u bahamian??

"A Rays offense that has scored more runs than the Yankees..."

Marlins runs scored: 181

Rays runs scored: 171

I guess the Marlins haven't outscored the Yankees then.

He may have a case on the pitching staff for now, but when it gets going, then Marlins will top it, I'm sure...

AZ went deep into the playoffs last year and they have one of the best pitchers in the game in Webb. They've earned quite of bit of that respect. This Marlins team has done nothing before this year, so they'll have to do something to earn respect. If they keep playing like they currently are they'll get that respect. They probably won't be favored in any playoff series until they win some, but that's the way it goes. It doesn't matter anyways as respect buys you nothing, but results buy you everything.

Which team is better? Florida or Tampa?

So... I've posted three statements using numbers to back up why the Marlins are better and have every bit a chance at the playoffs this year... and none are answered... so, my advice... if you want Stark to reply... don't make sense

Yes, I grew up in Nassau, but I live in Charleston, SC right now.
