He hits in Coors #2 basically If in pro player he wouldnt hit more than 25 hrs and he doesnt hit doubles, so his OPS would look like castillos and palmeiro is a power guy so that is NOT GOOD to put it in simple terms for u. he cant run hes old too much money that could be better spent cost mor e than Lee and Lee is wayyy better than him and younger you dont know what OPS means and you dont know much for a know it all. go greise!!

Not more doubles and no home runs. And in 2002 he hit 44 doubles and 24 home runs. This season, those doubles started going over the fence. Instead of hitting the wall, they went over it. If you haven't noticed, his HR's barely get out of the park. When those doubles started going over the wall, he became more of a home run hitter than a doubles hitter.

October 28, 200322 yr Pubes, you don't understand something here. Wild Card is arguing for Palmeiro. I am arguing that OPS IS THE MOST bulls*** STAT EVER (to use your famous inflictions). I am perfectly aware of what Slugging Percentage revolves around. Total Bases is a stat I like. I know very well that slugging percentage is total bases per at bat. What you think that has to do with on base percentage (or rather, what Billy Beane told you should think) is beyond me. If you set all things equal (meaning SLG is half and OBP is half) then a HR would make a quarter of the difference not half. Life is not always as simple as adding. You have to take into account division and multiplication as well. I know what OPS mean. I know that people are gizzing all over it. The best way to defeat your enemy is to know him better than he knows himself, or did you miss out on "The Art of War." (Oh, nevermind, it isn't baseball related. I guess I have to mention it because I don't know my baseball at all). So yes, I know all about OPS. I can't understand why people would care so much about it, but you know what, I have come to realize that anything said by someone who the masses believe is intelligent will be taken as sworn truth and can't be contested. Most of you piss on the image this country was created on.
October 28, 200322 yr palmeiro had a ton of ABs and hardly any walks. 21 is HORRIBLE. lowell had more walks and would have hit about 35 doubles and was on pace for about 40 hr. give up kid. you just can never be wrong huh?

I believe I've read somewhere (recently) that he isn't interested in playing S Florida for one reason or another. I respect the guy for everything he's done in baseball and in the community locally but if he'd rather not play here so be it.
