June 24, 200818 yr Hello, I live in freance, so I haven't many many information about our favorite team, but I have a question. So far our season seems good, but if in weeks to come we move down in the standings, who could be traded and what is our bigger position of need. Thanks for every opinions. see you later :thumbup
June 24, 200818 yr we arent moving down. so no one the mets have showen no signs of improving the braves cant win on the road and the nationals well they are the nationals the marlins will not move from the 2nd place spot if they do not move up to first since the phillies have the same amount of pitching as the marlins do
June 24, 200818 yr Well in terms of actually improving to make a run at the division i think that we could all agree that we are going to need a veteran catcher.
June 24, 200818 yr the phillies have the same amount of pitching as the marlins do I dunno about that... The Phillies' starter ERA is a half a run lower than ours and they have the best bullpen ERA in the National League.

The front office seems to agree according to the trade rumours.. I just hope this is NOT who we are seriously looking at. Marlins: The Marlins will look to acquire if they continue to be a factor in the NL East. The club wants catching and bullpen help, and Lo Duca is on its radar. Link

The rotation is terrible but they have a great bullpen just like us. BUT the difference between the marlins and phillies is we're getting 2 starting pitchers back from the DL, while they are not.
June 24, 200818 yr are you serious man? who do you think you are, dave hyde? positive energy buddy. if you build it, they will come.
June 25, 200817 yr are you serious man? who do you think you are, dave hyde? positive energy buddy. if you build it, they will come. That's funny. It works in the movies. Not in South Florida.

Another reason why stats lie. Their SPs don't need to have great stats. They reside in a hitter friendly park so their ERAs are going to be a bit higher than the norm. But they are also 4th in MLB and second in the NL (behind the Cubs) in runs scored. I stick by my pre ST prediction that they take the East. And that they don't go far in the play offs. My prediction of the WC coming out of the West is in jeapordy tho. The Central may get it. But it's still early.

Their team ERA is even worse on the road, believe it or not. 3.71 at home vs 4.04 on the road.

The race for the division is too close to even think about trading away players and if the Fish get JJ and DeAza back or trade for a catcher and centerfielder they could challenge all season long.

They are scoring runs well enough to cover their pitching deficiencies. They came into the season looking for it to be their year. We didn't. I expect them to make the moves and us not so much. I just hate to give up any part of the future for a 1/2 year rental player.
