While I totally do not agree with firing Fredi, I do think having Gregg come in after pulling a double-switch and having it tailor-made for Waechter to come in is the dumbest move he's made. You know what though? I can see the quotes in the paper tomorrow now:

 

Fredi: "That's what Coors Field does to you. I've seen games there I've never seen anywhere else. We've just got to come out tomorrow and put this one behind us."

 

Gregg: "That was on me. I blew it. Nobody to blame but myself. I had the lead and I lost it."

 

Eventually, SOMETHING has to change.

It just so happens the highest paid player on THIS team is Kevin Gregg. Jeffrey Loria and the rest of the front office...believe it or not, have their little push in this, just as every front office has a push on a certain player.

 

Sadly, Gregg will stay in the role, unless he blows a couple more, and totally implodes like Jorge Julio did last year (another example of the front office having a certain push for a certain player).

Wiley can join his ass aswell WTF is the point of having Wiley around if he cant have a guy who clocks 100 MPH (Lindstrom) be succesful in the major leagues. or have atleast his bullpen give up no more than 2 runs each night? thats what coaches are for to help improve guys if anything their screwing up the whole team Morale wise and Talent wise.

I'm almost sure if it were up to Fredi he wouldn't have Gregg up there every night, this seems to be a move from upper management (Loria). I'm sure they're giving Gregg his last couple of chances to fix things up before ultimately deciding to move on to a new project.

Gregg is paid $3 million to go out there and close the game.

 

It wasn't the best managerial decision, but if Gregg had gotten 3 outs like he should have this most likely wouldn't be an issue.

Eh, what the point? 99% of managers are idiots void of individual thinking. They are trained robots. And in our case, our managers are the FO's bitch. Girardi was fired for not allowing himself to be their bitch. This is coming from a guy who hates Girardi.
