Fredi= Brainless

Featured Replies

How can any human being honestly put in a blind, struggling Gregg for the 9th? Weachner (sp?) our best reliever pitches .1 of an inning. Leaving him in for the 9th is a move that requires the intelligence of a squirrel to realize. Instead we put in Gregg with ZERO people left in the pen. :thumbup

I've lost a lot of respect for Fredi tonight. I was on the fence with him. Now he is on my bad side and no where near being removed.

This team has the reflexes of a dead slug. A complete inability to realize bad trends and fix them. This goes from Beinfest down to Fredi. Every year. So damn stubborn.

There's three guys in the dugout taking part in the decision-making process. Tosca, who I have a lot of respect for, Fredi who has earned my respect this season and Wiley, and while I know the final decision is Fredi's I'd love to know (fly on the wall kind of thing) how pitching choices in certain circumstances are made.

Baseball is a business, just as it is a game.

Owners invest money on these players.

It just so happens the highest paid player on THIS team is Kevin Gregg. Jeffrey Loria and the rest of the front office...believe it or not, have their little push in this, just as every front office has a push on a certain player.

Sadly, Gregg will stay in the role, unless he blows a couple more, and totally implodes like Jorge Julio did last year (another example of the front office having a certain push for a certain player).

(I'm posting this everytime Fredi gets bashed tonight).

Fredi made some questionable decisions (letting Tank pitch to Atkins, and Waechter for only 1 out)...

...but if you believe the front office has NO SAY with Gregg, at this point, think again.

Gregg is paid $3 million (I think) to be able to get at least 3 outs. Most of the time it's only 3 outs, I think I can remember 1 time he had to pitch more than 1 inning.

Like I said in the other thread, it may not have been the best decision to put him in, but he's being paid to get those last 3 outs. He didn't do it.

agree

If a couple more blown saves is all it takes to see him gone (although I doubt it,unfortunately), I would gladly endure those losses . Gopher Gregg has to go now.

same crap, different day.

Would be nice to have a quality arm in the pen we have 1 Waechter but we lost becasue he didn't pitch the 9th.

There is no doubt in my mind the game would have been over had Waechter pitched the 9th.

Horrible Loss, all over ESPN, but ESPN=media attention whores.

:gofish

always true to a team through the good and bad right now its the awful.
