July 23, 200818 yr Press Release from The National- The National and SportBuy.com (formerly Naxcom.com) are looking to create a very special piece of Chicago memorabilia. We are offering $25,000 to Steve Bartman to come to the National Sports Collectors Convention to sign one autograph of the photo shown here. This is the highest amount ever offered for a single sports autograph. A briefcase filled with $25,000 in cash is waiting for him in the Tristar Autograph Pavilion at the National Sports Collectors Convention. All he has to do is show up on Thursday July 31, 2008 at 1:00 PM, prove that he is the Steve Bartman pictured in this photo, sign the photo and the $25,000 is his. Should Mr. Bartman take advantage of this offer, the autographed one-of-a-kind item will be auctioned to the highest bidder with the proceeds being donated to a Chicago-based charity. I will be interested to see if he shows up (I'm guessing no, but that amount of money is probably a ton for a regular guy like him).
July 23, 200818 yr He will say no. He is a stand up guy, he really loathes the idea of making money off of this. Gotta like him because of that.
July 23, 200818 yr "Now Mr. Bartman step over here to sign the autograph. Oh and don't worry about that guy on the grassy knoll, he's umm.....a statue."
July 23, 200818 yr Author "Now Mr. Bartman step over here to sign the autograph. Oh and don't worry about that guy on the grassy knoll, he's umm.....a statue." :lol Get down! It's the billy goat!
July 23, 200818 yr The money made off the event is goign to charity, so to be honest i hope he shows up. He might show up, and donate half the moeny himself. 25,000 is alot of cheese, and when you get it and have the auto sale go to charity its worth it.
