not necissarily, screaming line drives means he would have to stay at third, but if he was at third it means he scores easily

A man on third means, an error, a wild pitch a bulk, or any other crazy sh*t could score the runner... just a better chance of getting the guy home.

Yeah, but now he can score on an infield single. But I agree, not worth the risk. The odds of a run scoring with 2 outs get ridiculously slightly better from 3rd than from 2nd.
