July 27, 200817 yr The Packers recently said they would trade him for a first round pick. He did'nt show up for the first day of Packers minicamp today. Thoughts?
July 27, 200817 yr My thoughts are that i am tired of hearing a new Brett Favre story every second, either join as a backup or retire, not that hard
July 27, 200817 yr Favre is a douche. The Packers have kindly played his game the last 3 off seasons, but this was apparently the last year of them putting up with his crap. Good for them. Brett needs to realize the world doesn't revolve around Brett. From a fan's perspective (me), Favre seems like an attention whore. Either way he's overrated so whatever.
July 28, 200817 yr For the record, the reason he didn't show up to camp is because the GM asked him not to for a few days.

And not the Packers front office? Because they released him and all when he asked? Sure Favre may need to just retire... but if he comes back (which he will) and the Packers dont want him... he should be able to chose freely where he wants to go. Overrated... attention whore... no matter what the guy is... if the guy is still a quality starting QB and the Packers want to bench him the entire season he should have the option to go free.
July 28, 200817 yr I still don't see why he "has to retire". He had a great season last year, I think that's enough reason to stay another year.
July 28, 200817 yr I still don't see why he "has to retire". He had a great season last year, I think that's enough reason to stay another year. and AS a starter. He earned every right to start... so if Green Bay wont let him... then they are the true douche bags. Release him, trade him, send him somewhere he can still play if they dont want to let him... but to bench him is just wrong.
July 28, 200817 yr I never said they shouldn't trade him or release him. And yes he is a douche. Like I said, Brett needs to realize the world doesn't revolve around Brett. Every year he plays this game (4th year I think) and every year the Packers welcome him back with open arms. This year however, they finally had enough of his crap and now he's mad. I'm glad their not giving him what he wants right away. Giving him a taste of his own medicine.

July 29, 200817 yr Brett Favre has Mark Martin syndrome. When you say you're retiring .... do it with dignity and don't do something that would tarnish your reputation.
July 29, 200817 yr He is annoying and I think he should just retire. Why, because he was one of the best QB in the league last year?
July 29, 200817 yr He is annoying and I think he should just retire. Why, because he was one of the best QB in the league last year? He wont be as good as he was last year. 1. the packers had the easiest schedule in the NFL 2. the last 7 games the teams they had nothing to play for so it was a coast 3. if he wants to play don't be so picky about where you want to go (just go --the packers are mving on) 4. i just cant stand the way he does things
July 30, 200817 yr He is one of the most overrated players of this era. * Most AP NFL MVP awards: 3 (1995, 1996, 1997) * Most consecutive starts by a quarterback (NFL): 253 (275 including playoffs) * Most wins by a starting quarterback (NFL) regular season career: 160 (Regular season record: 160-93) * Most career passing touchdowns: 442 * Most career passing yards: 61,655 * Most career pass completions: 5,377 * Most career pass attempts: 8,758 * Most career games with at least three touchdowns: 63 I think he is rated just fine.

WTF!?!?!?!?! Brett Favre is underrated if anything he is a beast! That being said he is starting to get annoying. :|
July 31, 200817 yr 252 career interceptions 288. 252 is the 8th on the all-time list, Dan Marino. HOFers in the top 10: 2. George Blanda 5. Fran Tarkenton 7. Johnny Unitas 8. Dan Marino 9. Y.A. Tittle Farve, obviously, has more pass attempts than all of them.
August 1, 200817 yr Farve is becoming an iissue give him to TB or just release him and so what maybe hes not good you get lucky but Green Bay has takin alotta sh*t for him and its getting anoying seeing this everyday
August 1, 200817 yr Im sick of hearing about it Honestly & Im tired of ESPN feeling compelled to take 20 minutes to the start of every program to report non stories. Mortensen's wife is going to leave him because he has such a man crush on ole greybeard. He lives about 45 minutes from New Orleans in Kiln, Miss and honestly local media dosent even talk about the story that much. Its so lame to have to hear about this nonstop.
August 1, 200817 yr K Brett You got offered 20 mill to stay retired TAKE THE MONEY YOU BUM if he dosent GB better release his ass
August 1, 200817 yr wow, $20 million to... A) Save ur reputation B) sit at home C) not have to practice or do anything D) most importantly, NOT LOOK LIKE AN A-HOLE TO THE PUBLIC
