Why do so many people...

Everyone is saying AJ should be a closer. Go look at other topics.

A few have listed him as coming out of the bullpen. All those also list Looper and/or Urbina. Maybe they didn't list the roles they think each pitcher should play, but it's pretty obvious that they all want Burnett to work out of the pen until A. he's ready, and B. another starter is struggling.

Oh, and A.J. will miss the first month of next season.

Edit: okay, ONE person has argued for Burnett to be our closer. ONE FREAKING PERSON!

There has to be some kind of a curse.

I don't think there's a curse but I don't think the Giants will ever win one im my lifetime and I'm only 18

the year after returning from tommy john surgery is the "rehab" year. the whole point is to strengthen his arm and shoulder so that he can pitch well again. he won't be effective for 2 seasons (that means 1 is left). there's no point in making a guy with a rehabilitating arm a starter and throw 95 pitches per game... let's wait until he's healthy before he starts. for now, some bullpen work would be good for his rehab
