Calling out Pressley

Featured Replies

Hey - you are the batting coach, right?

What kind of situational hitting are you teaching anyway?

Shadez on third in the 8th with no one out - infield in - all we need is a freakin flyball to tie & what do we get?

Weak grounder

K (looking)

Fly ball (too late!)

I am much more upset over this than the Uggla screwup. Must score in that situation.

The ghost of Bill Robinson haunts this club.

(End rant)

I think you guys give WAAAY too much credit to what a Hitting Coach can do with these guys. These are not little leaguers that do not know the situation and do not know what needs to be done. These guys have been playing baseball for a loooong time and I am pretty sure going up to the plate that they all KNOW exactly what the situation is and what needs to be done. Whether or not they get it done is another story.

The role of the hitting coach on a team is to help guys when they have mechanical issues and to keep an eye on the tendancies of players. He can talk to these guys about what they are doing wrong until he is blue in the face. But the players are responsible for the lack of hitting in those situations.

Not the freakin hitting coach.

Lineup tonight:

Hanley

Amezaga (Uggla sits for being a dumb dumb last night)

Cantu

Jacobs (rewarded for being hot)

Gonzo (resting Josh who is either in the worst slump of his career or playing hurt)

Cody

Hermida

Baker

The hitting coach? Garbage. Its 100% fault of the 3 batters. Mainly the first two, but Jacobs simply for popping it up a good distance which would have scored Hanley. Hermida hit the ball the wrong way to score a runner, and perfectally to short. Willingham was playing as if he needed to get on f***ing base, ignoring close strikes... which may have been balls, but were still groundable and popable balls.

YESSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!! FREDI, GREAT LINEUP!!!! I feel confident that we will win today because Fredi grew a brain overnight

Little Leaguers have more fundamentals when it comes to hitting. My 5 year old tee ball playing cousin has better situational hitting skills then the entire Marlins team combined.

IMHO this is the reason LoDuca will help us.
