The Marlins Bullpen

Featured Replies

well, obviously right now its not. But it is still a good bullpen, and to me it is the key to our success if we wanna win the division. The pitching is unbelievable right now and the offense is heating up. If the bullpen can be dominate like it used to be, we'll start winning again.

Can't really blame them too much, after all, they play on a team who's starters hadn't pitched a CG in almost two years so they've been overworked. I still hate Kevin Gregg, though.

still cant believe ricky nolasco pitched a CG yesterday

This bullpen has been forced to carry the load for two seasons, that is the mark of non-contenders. As much as I hate the Rays their starters for the most part are consistently going 7 innings and their bullpen has stayed fresh. Maybe they can hang in there until Sept and get some fresher arms when the rosters expand.

Renyel Pinto and Kevin Gregg are definately struggling. Its understandable that the bullpen will blow one on occasion, but Gregg has done it a few times lately and Pinto has been absolutely terrible. In fact, the game the other day against the Cubs when he gave them 5 runs and the game in one inning was the worst pitching and coaching job I've ever seen.

Bullpen was great earlier and some of them not good now. Since the new rotation started july 8 the starters have had 27 inherited runners and the first relivers have allowed only 5 to score. 1 against Olsen and 4 against Volstad. All 4 were saved for Johnson to really help him and all 6 were saved for Anibal hes the lucky one. His 3.99 era would be much worse Volstads era could be a lot better. Dont know about the closers.

Kevin Gregg isn't struggling.
