Final day of Yankee Stadium compared to final day at Shea

Featured Replies

Final game at Yankee Stadium: Prime time start, nice pre-game ceremony, Yankees win.

Final game at Shea: Just another 1 o'clock Sunday game, it was raining, and the Mutts lost.

Very fitting. :mischief

I thought about it when it happened. The Yankees final game seemed like everything was planned perfectly, and seemed like the correct way to send of a great franchise. The mets just seemed like a formality and just wanted to get it out of the way. It was magical

Sh!t stadium isnt close to what yankees stadium is. Its just another stadium, a stadium that witnessed a team choke twice HAHAHAHA

I'm wondering how many rats will run out of there when it's demolished.

Citi Field will hold about 45,000 seats so that's at least 45,000 rats.

Yankee Stadium = The house that Ruth built.

Shea Stadium = The toilet that Robert Moses built.

Very true. I can't imagine that anyone will ever top Moses for losing two baseball teams for a region at once. That stadium and team has a legacy that I can't imagine anyone being proud of.
