This isn't even like a Manny Ramirez free agent scenario where the only reason we don't go after him is because he costs too much. Griffey would become one of the highest paid players on our team, but the 10th greatest contributor.

This clears the way for a veteran presence in LF. I wouldn't put it past the Marlins!
