March 26, 200917 yr They should be named after Miami, but I'm not too fond of "Miami Marlins." Sounds a bit geeky with the two "M's." I wouldn't be too opposed to changing the team mascot.
March 26, 200917 yr I don't care what they call them - just don't call them late for the first pitch on Opening Day........ .........oh wait - didn't I say that once about 8 years ago on this very site and get quoted in Sports Illustrated? Admin? You may be the only one on here who remembers that! :-) :thumbup I remember.
March 26, 200917 yr I could care less if they were called the Miami Fags, BASEBALL WILL BE HERE FOR THE NEXT 35 YEARS!! Who gives a sh*t what there name is! Miami Marlins is the right thing to do... The City/County stepped up to the plate... The State did sh*t for us, screw them!! I completely agree- This is good for the Marlins.. now instead of attracting 400 fans they might double or triple that number with the new stadium, and we have the city to thank....not the state. Who really uses their full name anyways? To me... they are the Marlins. :thumbup
March 31, 200917 yr This morning uniwatchblog had an interesting take on what the new Marlins uni's could look like. Here are pics. Home Alternate Road The main idea was to get rid of the 'black' which I couldn't agree more with. I think they are interesting. I would miss the pinstripes, and the current typeface (I love the tail on the Marlins logo!!). But still, interesting nonetheless.
March 31, 200917 yr I like the look of that Marlin, except it shouldn't have orange on the fish. I think whenever a fish/animal is represented in a logo, it should strive to look like the real thing. A Marlins doesn't have any orange. The rest of it I like though.

March 31, 200917 yr In that picture it looks a little like orange but it is really yellow or light yellow on real marlins
