May 24, 200917 yr So, somebody please answer me this... If you're planning on taking West out for the top of the 6th, and you have met on 1st and 2nd, nobody out in a close game, and West is up to bat Why in the hell do you let West hit in that situation? I know West did his job to get the runners over to 2nd and 3rd, but don't you take a chance at the big inning? wtf! I'd blame this on Fredi but he was 800 miles away. Yeah, the bugged the hell out of me too. When it was the 9th, sure, sac bunt. 5th? Play to put as many runs as you can on the board, not to tie.

I was looking forward to taking my kid to the game tomorrow (today?) But after this debacle, why the **** would I want to spend my hard earned money watching these clowns? Especially when I know that 4 out of every 5 dollars goes to Crater-face Huizenga and the rest to "mini-me" Samson?
May 24, 200917 yr Well jj should pitch well which will be nice to see if you go. I just keep thinking things can't get worse and them they do. It's gotta end.

May 24, 200917 yr WELL if we could score 10 runs that would help we havent scored 10 runs in over a month and a week Heheh. Seriously, that's how you defend the pitching? By saying giving up 10 runs is only a problem because we don't have an offense who scores 10 runs (you meant 11 though)? Well, why not just say it's all the pitching's fault because they didn't throw a shutout? That's gotta be about as probable as a team scoring 11 runs. (Actually, in 2008, there were 271 team shutouts and 270 11-or-more-run games.) I honestly have no idea just how ridiculously bad the pitching has to get for you to admit what is painfully obvious to most, that they are as much of a problem as the offense, if not more.

My best answer is, saving hitters in a tight game in case of extra innings. Only a guess, mind.

My best answer is, saving hitters in a tight game in case of extra innings. Only a guess, mind. Mine would be because he did do his job, as was originally stated. In a close game he moved 2 runners into scoring position with one out and into the hands of 2, or hopefully 3, of the guys who had actually gotten hits , and we didn't waste a bench guy to do that. Maybe a little later in the game pull a double switch to "bury" the pitcher in the line up, but not in this case.
