June 26, 200915 yr Author Lol, this is so late. I know, I got home from seeing Transformers 2 at like 2:30 and I was outraged at the lack of a post game thread
June 26, 200915 yr I've been waiting for it to show up. I voted for Hanley, it was a good game to watch. Starting pitching is going deep in games, the team is scoring some runs. I have been astounded by how well we've played the AL East in this stretch, but I really want to beat the Rays. They won 5/6 from us last year, they won 2/3 from us in Miami last month... its time to show them that the Fish have a good young team too. We're 9-3 against the rest of the AL East on this stetch so lets see if we can finish up 11-4 or 12-3.
June 26, 200915 yr nice to see the fish on a winning streak. getting over .500 is nice. hopefully they keep it going, but a tough team in tampa. (on another note, i think im going to keep not caring about dan uggla anymore if he keeps hitting jacks)

June 26, 200915 yr The most important statistic from the Baltimore series - our starters had a 0.45 ERA. That is insane pitching considering they have some really good bats in Jones, Markakis, Roberts, Huff and Wieters. It was really encouraging to see West rebound from being hit hard last time out against the Yankees to pitch 6 scoreless in this ballgame. Hanley, along with many others is absolutely killing the ball right now and he accumulated 11 RBI in this 3 game series. The RBI lead battle between Hanley, Uggla, Cantu and Cody sure is fun to watch!

The RBI lead battle between Hanley, Uggla, Cantu and Cody sure is fun to watch! Weiters hasn't been very good. But a glaring omission in that list their top hitter this year, Luke Scott, who's hitting .293/.372/.560. It's also worth mentioning, in the spirit of full disclosure, that Luke is one of my favorite players and I do admit to "LUUUUUUUUUUUUUUKE"ing when he came up to bat against us. I'm ashamed of myself and very sorry. And Baltimore's not a good hitting team, they are below average in runs scored, 5th worst in the AL. But still, allowing only 1 earned run in the entire series is worth noting, especially since it was from the guys who have been the 3 weakest this year, Miller, Nolasco, and West.

That maybe so, but there is no denying those are some pretty solid bats, including Scott who I missed out, which makes the success of our starters a tremendous achievement. I know Wieters hasn't exactly lit up the majors but he still has a bat which should eventually be a fearsome one.
June 26, 200915 yr Gotta give it to West. Hanley's granny was awesome but a rookie pitching shutting down the offense is phenomenal.
